    Cup Difficulty and Stoppage Time

The difficulty in competitions like the Champion's League is drastically increased no matter what difficulty you're playing. I usually play on Top Player, but during competitions I go down to Professional, and even then it is hard to scrape wins because the AI just plays insane. And it's not like they play smarter or anything, they just take the ball from you without any effort and score on really dumb plays. I really dislike when devs make playoffs harder. It's one reason I hate the NHL games... once you get to the playoffs you might as well quit and start another season, because the AI is going to play stupidly good and it is just not fun. Was PES 17 like this? Rivalry games were pretty tough, but I don't remember having to tone down the difficulty during competition play.

Also, what happened to stoppage time? I really liked the way they handled stoppage time in PES 2017. During close games, the refs usually gave enough stoppage time for the trailing team to come back, and even if the minimum time was up, he still gave a bit more time if he saw a team had a scoring chance. This made competitive games much more exciting near half time & the end of the game. This year, I have never seen the ref give more than two minutes of stoppage time, and that was only once. Usually it is just one minute, or he blows the whistle as soon as the clock hits 45/90, even if a team is on a scoring chance. This really reduces the fun of the game for me, as the tension of extra minutes was one of my favorite things about last year's game.

Probably because there aren't any injuries.

True, I've yet to see a single injury this year.

and no fouls either. Basically the only stoppage is when the ball goes out of play and/or in the net.
