New to PES are FIFA and PES good enough to split time between?

I've basically always chosen FIFA beceause I really only care about MLS (very casually). Though, I LOVE soccer games. I always have ended up buying FIFA year after year on PC. I play FIFA on Xbox One X here and there from EA Access. I have already bought EA Origin Access Premier for the year. So, FIFA is taken care of on PC.

I own a Samsung 4K curved TV and both PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. Besides The Show, I only play Xbox One X. Just my personal preference. I Most importantly own a high end PC.

I decided to dive into the PES 2019 demo on Xbox One X. I don't typically buy soccer games on consoles. BUT, I was considering getting PES 2019 on Xbox One X. Only because of convenience and my wife hogging everything.

This game looks and feels very good from the little I was able to play. It also looks good from a gameplay footage perspective. I don't really have much experience with PES.

Typically, with sports games, I'm a simulation gamer. I'm wondering as far as gameplay goes which of the two are more fun? Which one of the two is more simulation? And have far apart are they from each other in those respects?

I HATE Ultimate Team stuff and not a fan of Be a Pro type game modes. Just strictly an offline franchise, tournament, and cup type game mode guy. So, when you exclude Ultimate Team and Be a Pro type mode, how does PES stack up to FIFA?

Do you think what you've played on the demo, the information we have and the footage you've seen shows enough improvements over PES 2018 to warrant a day one purchase?

If you want to get a feel for PES (with full presentation) and the career mode (Master League), sign up for the 7 day free trail of Gamepass and download PES18.

I personally get both every year. I tend to play more FIFA early and then strictly play PES later on. But I always play both throughout the year.

I would say yes both games are good enough to split time between them. I love sports games and imo FIFA and PES are among the 2 best sports games the last couple of years you can buy. Primarily because this is one sport video games where this is true competition and it makes the developers improve their game more than regular usual every year. I would say get both as well if you just love footie games.

for me.. last year for example I bought PES18 at launch and didn't get FIFA 18 until the BLack Sunday deal where you can buy fifa and nhl for $30 on playstation store. I will probably do that this year again....

as far as how PES stack up offline compared to FIFA... I will first say I'm mostly an online footie gamer but I do play offline in both games as well. just not as frequent as some of the others guys here on the forums who basically play only offline so their opinion would probably mean more than mine. but for me, I think you can't really go wrong with either playing offline sim and enjoy it.. with FIFA you can try to make as sim as possible with slider sets available here at the forums but even though PES doesn't have sliders I feel the game is still more sim in more aspects out of the box more so than FIFA is with sliders configured. but that is strictly just my opinion.. I think there is many on these forums that believe FIFA with sliders set makes the game more sim than PES. I don't agree with that but primarily I don't agree with that for the reasons on how the AI plays you in both games. I think PES is more challenging in terms of AI from game to game and how different it plays at times. trust me I actually get bored playing the AI to much over and over in both but I will say i'm less bored in PES though as I think there is more variety in the play from the AI game to game if that makes sense. maybe someone else can talk more about that for you. It might be because FIFA is the easier game to pick up and learn for the casual and overall master the gameplay. PES learning curves is much steeper and even for me that has played both since they existed ... FIFA is always the easier game to master quickly and goal scoring is much easier.

with all that said though.. if you truly only care about MLS.. I would just stick with FIFA though because that is already available to you in the game. in PES you have to rely for someone to create MLS teams for you which is not popular thing available as far as i know. I never have had MLS patches on my PES games... but i also don't really care for MLS either so maybe that's why. lol

I fully agree with Stevo's post here and definitely recommend getting both. You stated you have an high end PC which I would highly recommend getting PES on Steam because you will have access to amazing mods that will make you forget about the lack of licenses.

I'd say yes as well. Both games excel in different areas, I end up buying both every year.

I'm more of a fifa player, but I've gotten tired of it and I'm really enjoying pes 2018 more right now. Even though you can't fix problems with the gameplay(especially the cpu) using sliders like in Fifa, Pes feels more realistic overall. If you're a big fan of tactics like me, I definitely recommend playing Pes. Unlike Fifa, Pes allows you to play in a variety of styles. You can even play like Pep Guardiola's Man City and make your fullbacks tuck in and play like midfielders.
