Really hard for me to get excited about PES after these past few games have been pretty flat from a gameplay perspective. If there isn't a dramatic improvement I don't see the point in spending $60.

Gameplay and controls seem smoother in videos I've seen. See if translates into final product.

It all sounds good, but I watched the Finesse Dribble video w/ Iniesta and came away pretty underwhelmed by the actual gameplay footage, which was suspiciously limited.


I have played a ton of PES in recent years, and I can honestly say that I didn't notice a single new animation, or anything that looked remotely improved upon from last year.

Stream today looked much better. Still early, but I was impressed. The new foul animations and intentional fouls are amazing. My hope is the AI will use them also. Physical play also looks better for those forwards that can hold up play, so they may finally be a factor in the game. Defenders still have that twitch to them and look to have those brainless moment, so that is my main worry at this point. This looks to be a little things update more so than anything dramatic, but it is still going in the right direction compared to the other game....

Will there be a mile of space between the midfielders and back 4, with defenders backtracking for no good reason?

And will you be able to stand with the ball at your feet forever in your own 1/3, and not have the CPU defense actually approach you unless they are set to super aggressive defending?

These are the questions I have. Both of these problems have been born out of pure laziness.

Adding individual playstyles for AI is nice but they should fix simple things like this before anything else. I mean you can spot AI players on stupid positions all over the field.

I hated PES the last two years. I felt the gameplay took a step back.

Watching videos, it appears to be more of the same... but I'll give the demo a try. Sadly, I have low expectations
