I'm all right with PES being free on PSN, unlike on Xbox Game Pass where the game is theoretically subject for removal at any time.
Good time of year to release it as well. I know the game gets knocked because of all the licenses it lost, but with nearly a year's worth of Option Files floating around, there's still great mileage to be had.

Well, in an extremely odd and frustrating way, PlayStation has now announced a change in its July free PS Plus games - the very definition of a last-minute change...PES 2019 will no longer be part of it. Instead, Detroit: Become Human will be free, along with Horizon Chase Turbo.

The fact that Sony doesn't do this sort of thing very often (last minute changes to PS+) leads me to believe it was more on Konami's side. Not that they need any more bad PR.Comment

I really am willing to bet this was because of the mass of people complaining about PES being one of the games. Lots of threats to unsubscribe from PS+ because "sports games are stupid, just go out and play a sport lol" on twitter and reddit. Bummer, would've been the first PS+ game I actually played since Little Big Planet 3.Comment

I kind of doubt this, as Konami posted on Facebook and Twitter just yesterday about PES 2019 being a PS Plus free game for July. Not sure why they would advertise it if they were backing out.
