Literally just re bought this today. Cannot wait to put in another 25 master league seasons.

Yeah, PS4–no gaming PC for me, and likely not for some time due to the pricing/card issues.

Otherwise I’d be all up in the modded 2021 version.

But what keeps me coming back to 2017 now is how the AI plays, even plain old vanilla.

I found PES 2019 for cheap, and I never really played it, so I picked that up, also because...I don't know. Going to give it a shot, as well—so far had decent results at editing AI tactics and having them play how I want them to.

The physicality in 2017 is awesome. You actually feel like you're being pressured, making buildup harder. I think the newer games fake "realism" by slowing everything down in a very artificial/empty kind of way. Combined with the opposing CPU defense feeling toothless.

The fouling can seem like a bit much, but they are simulating a 90 minute match in 10 minutes or so on default, so it's a fair tradeoff

Yeah I've bought PES 2017 again and found great full option file with classic players added to the team's they were most prominent in. Easily the best game for competitive AI. Played some co-op on master league with a friend last night. Easily the most fun I've had on a football game for years.

I seem to remember after this game, fouls became practically none existant.

Fired up 2017 on the PS4 today and picked up where I left off in my Champions League saves. Just as wonderful as I remember it. AI absolutely hacking at you and getting booked for it, and an actual joy to score goals.

i am lucky in that i have 16, 17, 18... fired up 17 and played a few excellent matches, but i am seriously struggling to get the team emblems/jerseys correct.


i've tried a few different ones that are still online, but it always messes up the team emblem placement. anyone have pointers on this? going to move onto 18 to try my luck there.


edit: i was able to find some that work, just had to make sure it was the correct 'data pack'. that said, i would love to find some recent rosters, if anyone has any for ps4 that would be appreciated
