Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Noobie Question Here.
When I go to start a new game and select nations, under Africa I just have "South Africa". I see some of you guys have Ghana and Ivory Coast. How's come you guys have more countries to choose from than me, and how can I get those options?
Don't throw things at the n00b please

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Well, I made the playoffs in my first season despite being predicted to struggle for a top-half finish. I wanted promotion, but I think I'll be able to get it in year two. Fulham, btw, is now in the CL. Arsenal won the EPL, so at least that part is (or at least will be) accurate.
My first two matches in year two were TIM Cup fixtures. I was only supposed to get to the second round, but I pulled off a massive upset against Serie B side US Sassuolo Calcio. As you can see they had 20 shots to my 10, but only 6 on target to my 7. I restricted them to a lot of long range efforts, and it paid off. Had one of those FM moments where I jumped out of my chair in the 85th when the go-ahead goal was scored. I was convinced I was going to lose as my players were all exhausted and I had used all 3 subs.
This will be as far as I get in the tourney as I face Genoa next, and they'll probably win 6-0.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Well I decided to start a new save since my Leeds save was going downhill. Plus I recently switched the game over to my new macbook and it runs a heck of a lot smoother.
So I randomly picked Grimsby Town in the Blue Square Bet Premier in England. I figured I would see what it was like to start at a small club and work my way up through the ranks. I also loaded some of those other countries and leagues as well in case my England Career ends early.
So far it's not looking so good. I'm not happy with my squad, and the Board won't give me any money for transfers or entertain the idea of a feeder club.
Through 14 Games I'm struggling:
And then I get this message. I don't think my career is going to last here at Grimsby Town.:
I've even brought in some Premier League U18s on free loans to try to help out but it just isn't working. Life in the BSP is tough.Comment

CB, do you have funds available for payroll? If so, try to find some players that you can bring in on a free transfer. You can always find some aging veterans that are good players for that level that still have a year or two left in the tank.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
And try and get a parent club. You said the board wouldn't consider the idea of a feeder club, but why do you need one at that level? A parent club could send some quality youngsters your way on loan, and you won't have to pay any sort of loan fee.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
And rsomar I meant to say parent club. The board said they didn't think it was a viable option. I pressed them again, but they said their decision was final:
Wouldn't you know I finally got another W. This for the first time in 7 fixtures. Over the 19th place team:

Hey, so....I just downloaded and installed this game to see what all the fuss is about.
Are there any essential mods I need? Rosters, facepacks, skins, etc? Anything? I'd like my game to mirror the real world as closely as possible, but I'm not real sure how to get there.
Any help is appreciated.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Instructions as to where files need to be saved should be on the same page as the download links.
Good luck. If you can get past the sharp lurning curve, you're going to be addicted.Comment
