Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Summer Transfer Update...
Step 1. Sell my highest paid player.....complete. Sold Pedro Leon for $9 million to Zenit.
Step 2. Maybe sell my prized player.....completed by my board. I had decided to hang on to Pablo Sarabia considering we were in the black by a good portion, my wage budget is a cool $6 million under budget, and Roma backed off their pursuit. First match, he assisted on 4 of my 5 goals in a 5-0 thrashing of Alcorcon. Then Monaco swooped in with a $18 million offer on deadline day and after I rejected it, the board stepped in. So life goes.
Step 3. Rebuild the squad.....with no help from the board. So selling two players for $27 million should be sufficient to get some players in. Right? Right?!?!?! Those sells netted me an increase of my transfer budget from $375k to $1.6 million.
Time to hit the loan market.
20 year old target man Carlos Fernandez (Sevilla)
19 year old roaming playmaker Joshua Onomah (Tottenham)
24 year old winger Robbie Brady (Hull) (438k future fee....maybe)
28 year old trequarista Adrian (Porto) (again) ($1.9m future fee...I doubt it)
20 year old false nine Mason Bennett (Derby)
20 year old advanced playmaker Curro (Sevilla)
Then, my scouts found this 16 year old target man regen by the name of Seydou Konan. I bought him from Lucena for $54k.
Picked to finish 12th by the media. The board is wanting a mid-table position. The goal this year is to consolidate and turn a profit so that maybe we get some ambition going and make a run at some European play.Comment

Team USA draws for WC 2018 qualification and copa america hosted in USA in 2016. Also a funny JK headline, guess his coach journey after I took his place at Team USA has not been a good one.......Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
That CL Final last night was a roller coaster of emotions, and we won on such a hilarious bad pass by De Gea that De Bruyne intercepted. Game owed me for that debacle in the CL Final 2 years ago. I'll try to upload it to YT later.
We won the league with 3 matches to spare and set the new points record. Couple various awards were won. If I get the ambition when I get home later, I might post screens.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
United have fallen on hard times and have already fired Roberto Mancini. Jurgen Klopp is the favorite for the job. Wasn't even listed by the oddsmaker. Having a very rough season at Getafe dealing with injuries and zero squad depth (though the board gave me $6 million for the winter transfer period).
Of course I took the interview.
Edit: They hired Klopp. Oh well, back to the grind. Considering that I have only won 3 matches, I'm still within 4 points of Europe. Shows how top heavy La Liga is.
Edit 2: And now I'm seriously considering the offer Schalke is giving me after they fired Wenger.Attached FilesLast edited by jasontoddwhitt; 08-14-2015, 11:08 AM.Comment

The 2023/24 season is in the books
Shipped some players out, brought in a few. Tan was not pleased. But oh well
City dominated the league for most of the year. A couple of draws and a head to head loss to Cardiff and we go on to retain our title

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
This is the first save in a long time where I decided to jump from club to club....and it's rather exciting and refreshing. Went from trying to keep a broke club safe to trying to get a club that will go broke without European football into either Europa or Champions League.
I'm loving Schalke. A great youth setup in place, which the Under 19s performed a double, winning the league and the cup. So even though several of my young stars are attracting attention from major clubs (which in turn, is causing them to ask me to accept bids), I feel like I can replace them.
Board wants Europa League. We're three points away from Champions League. However, we're also three points away from nothing.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Champions League football! Took 16 of 18 points down the stretch (only blemish a 1-1 draw to the German National Team...I mean Bayern) and thanks to Gladbach drawing on the final day of the season, I vaulted to third on goal differential and straight into the Group Stage.
Board gave me $20 million to work with, and then they negotiated buyouts on some clauses to boost that to $23 million. I've got one young striker demanding to be sold because he's behind Max Meyer, which is a shame. Plus, I've got Klaas-Jan Huntelaar demanding to be sold so he can take on a new challenge (since I only play with one striker up top, he's kind of surplus).Comment
