I think I broke my Liverpool save.

If you want to check out some regens (they are slightly better now, I think 4 are labelled wonderkids after training) have a look at the album. Most don't even get playing time with me yet.

Ansah (the first picture) was the most expensive at 10M, the rest were all under 4M. Thank you scouts and looking at the youth national teams.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

I fired up my test Rangers save because I was wanting to try some stuff. Win the Championship by 8 points. Head into the Premiership, but I could't keep the English from raiding me as my guys saw the big bucks down south.

Sold Foderingham to Crystal Palace for a million. Sold Danny Wilson to Fulham for a million. Sold James Tavernier to West Brom for 3.5 million. Three key cogs of my title winning team. Add to that injuries to Zelalem (extended his loan for another season) and and Kiernan and we got off to a very slow start in league play. Twelve matches in, we're sitting 9th. We can't score, we can't keep balls out of the net. Everything is going wrong.

Board demands I win the next match or else. We face Dundee, I'm up 3-2 (more goals than I had scored the previous five matches combined) but disaster strikes in the 80th minute as my keeper gets injured, forcing me to move an outfield player to keeper and play a man down. I thought I've saved my job, when in the 92nd minute, a cross gets sent into the six yard box, the ball can't get cleared out, and after much jostling, tackling, probably punching and screaming....the ball end up in the back of the net. 3-3. Game over.

      I get the sack.

I'm gutted.....I feel the board did me wrong. I would get the last laugh. One month later, I'm hired by....

      Dundee.

That's right, the team that caused me to get fired hired me. Get to work in the January transfer period, selling off a couple pieces that I don't really need and bringing in a couple loans to shore up a few spots. We flirted with the drop zone the rest of the season. First match against Rangers and they beat me 1-0. The team I built being run by a stranger.

      I got the last laugh.

Once the split happened, our form started to improve. The highlight though was going into Ibrox and getting a 2-0 victory. Take that you limey ********!!!! You fired me...guess who finished ahead of you in the table. That's right....me!

Promotion is not out of the question

After 10 matches, I thought we were gonna get relegated.

We score a lot of goals and we allow a lot of goals. Scored 7 against Lens in a match once.

With one game left in the season, we secured the league title and promotion to League 2. My first piece of hardware. And the clubs first venture back into league 2 since 01/02. The board has now told me I am untouchable. However the budget provided for the next season is not anywhere near what it needs to be. But its all we can afford. So avoiding relegation seems like the most realistic goal. Hoping they don't expect much more than that.

I rotated the team a lot, so no one had any crazy good stats. It was very much a complete team effort. Especially on defense. We had the best defense in the league. Only conceding 24 goals all season (1 more game to go however). And our keeper had 26 clean sheets, most in the league by 8.

I also switched to a possession game mid season, and we ended up being the second best team at keeping possession. However, this did cut down on our goals. But also bolstered our defense. We won most games 1-0, or drew 0-0.

Really good season, and excited we got promoted and won the title. But I'm kinda of dreading the next season. I think its going to be brutal, and I could end up getting fired for getting relegated.

And one last note, I've yet to buy a player. Both seasons I've moved all transfer funds into budget, and signed players on free and loaned players in. I don't think I can get away with that next season. I'll probably have to buy a couple players with the 26K budget.

Do team meetings ever go well? I've botched everyone I've done.

Mine have usually gone well as long as I don't severely overdue or undersell expectations.

Welp, the big boys have finally come in and raided my side.

Hopefully some of the regens i bought progress nicely into the first team. Gomez is 19 and a wonderkid. No clue how he get a Work Permit, especially since Diego Reyes hasnt been able to get one and he's grabbed 10 CAPS in the last 12 months

Here's how my summer window went

Don't you EVER read my blog? It's gotten a lot better.

I really don't want to sell this kid, but with that money I could really bolster the squad for next season.

Its funny, his value doubled right be4fore this offer was made. And that is 4x more than I have now in transfer wages. So I guess I'll accept.

I thought for a minute that this might be a record for the club. But they sold Jamie Vardy for $350K

I'd offer a restructured deal first, especially at smaller clubs, ash up front can be a huge difference in club finances. I'd negotiate it to 250k + incentives, then let it trend downwards to extract cash, with that many clubs interested, you can easily cash in on this kid. Sucks to lose talent now, but money is king.

Those other 15 teams were VNL teams, so they couldn't come close in terms of what was already offered. I did try to increase it to 200K up front and they rejected, but came back with the 150K and upped the monthly to 65K, and his next sale to 25%. I was happy with that.

that seems fine, i do hate that negotiating this year is like pulling teeth.

Pretty good way to end the year

                          Spoiler

Had the chance of winning the title if I beat Chermont and Lens losing or drawing but we got beat 4-1.

Can't wait to lose 10-0 to PSG next year

Are you using the cloud save because you play on two computers? I was afraid of that happening myself, so I bought a $5 tiny thumb drive just for FM files.
