Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
So I am in the summer window of 2020 with Arsenal, off of back to back Premier League titles.
I would like to effectively use Auba and Laca up front (per FM its a 5-2-1-2), utilizing 3 at the back and 2 WB.
My question is, what roles for my 2 strikers best suit a system like this? I was thinking an AF and DLF?

I’m convinced they programmed Anfield magic in this game. I lost 5-2 to Liverpool yesterday, where my guys missed 3 clear cut sitters, where Fabinho hits 2 golazos from outside the box.

I’d go with an advanced forward and a poacher.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
In a top 4 scrap between Chelsea, City, and Liverpool with Arsenal. United are playing brilliant under OGS and are running away with the league.
I have sold both Xhaka and Mustafi for a combined 58 million US to Monaco.
I had to bring in Fode Ballo-Toure in from Monaco on loan, as Kolasinac’s hamstring blew up during the January window. Also bought Jean-Philippe Gbamin in from Mainz for 30 million as a backup DM. His stats are insane for his position. Added Alex Berenguer from Torino on loan as well, as I had no one to play RW behind Mkhitaryan.
Drew Young Boys in the first KO round of the Europa League.

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Finally got around to playing 19... Started with Liverpool of course.
Highlights:
Treble!
Man City lost their final 2 matches to allow us to win the league by 3 points. They were demoralized by....
Us beating them in the FA Cup semi finals in penalties. Scored a goal in the 85th minute to tie it 1-1. They went up early in extra time. Scored a goal to tie it again. In penalties, Ederson saved our 2nd penalty. Not looking good. But then their 4th and 5th takers get saved and hit the crossbar. Captain Henderson buries the 5th to win it. So we came back in every phase of the match to beat them. Mwahaha. Beat Chelsea in the Final 2-0.
And who do we draw in the Champions League semi-finals? You guessed it! The first match is at Anfield and we win 2-0. The 2nd leg at the Emirates, City scores 2 goals in the 2nd half to send the tie into extra time. They score a goal. Then we score in the 110th minute to win on away goals. Mwahaha. Beat Man U 3-1 in the Final. Mwahaha.
Trophyless, Man City promptly sack Pep. Mwahaha.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is named players and writers player of the season because ratings for full backs are hilariously broken.
Probably the best timeline I've ever produced in this game.
Big transfers in January (turned off first transfer window as usual) were Matip to Real for like 30M. Bought de Ligt to pair with VVD for the next few years.
Big transfers in first summer: Mane to PSG for £100M (a season-long shameless tapping up campaign involving Buffon and other PSG players led to this. **** PSG). Used that 100M to buy Jadon Sancho, Diogo Jota, and a backup LB.
Lost the Community Shield to City 1-0 - godlike performance by Ederson. MotM, which is almost impossible for goalies on FM19 it seems.
Fun times.Comment

To be fair, Liverpool are quite an opponent in 19. They put 5 past me at Anfield. Would have been 5-5, but my crew missed 3 sitters.
You might have Bayern and Barca calling you soon, by the way.
My biggest complaint about 19 right now are GK howlers, you know the one where a shot cannons off of the post, then right back off your keeper into the net.
