    The Player Thread

I thought it was necessary to start a thread about players. If you want to brag about a player you've unearthed, I say we post it here. Also, if you are looking for a certain player, come here too. JUST DON'T POST CA/PA OR HIDDEN ATTRIBUTES!

I'll start it off. I'm running a 4-1-2-1-2 with Napoli (you can see my lineup/team/etc.) in the main (old) thread. My team is relatively strong, but I'm looking for a CDM who can act as an anchor man. Walter Gargano is adequate, but I'd love to have someone better to take me to the next level (I'm currently lying in 1st in the Serie A on November 11th). I don't want a Makelele-esque player, but would like someone who could play a decent ball forward every now and again. I've got $8.57M (USD) to spend in the January window. I turned off transfer budgets in the first window, so everyone is pretty much on their original teams. This means that the normal "go-to" guys' values have gone up and can't be gotten for really low prices like you can get them for at the beginning of the game. Mahamadou Diarra is transfer-listed and is available for $6M. Thoughts anyone?

    Re: The Player Thread

What about Fernando Gago? I see him available on my save for loan. He's pretty solid and better rounded than Diarra.

I'd also recommend Veloso, but he's likely out of your range. Other possibilities might be Mats Rits, Anthony Annan, or Bruno Zuculini. Zuculini might be a good buy for your Napoli squad. Young and decent.

For those of you looking to build with youth, I highly recommend these guys:

Romelo Lukaku (FC) - Anderlecht....Great IRL and could be Drogba's second coming

Lorenzo Crisetig (DMC) - Inter. Can be signed for compensation at the beginning of the game.

Alphonse Areola (GK) - PSG. Great young keeper and cheap to get. Make sure you have a keeper with high determination, work rate, and teamwork to tutor

Nicolas Otamendi (DC). A good defender with great stats although he will also need tutoring to reach his potential

Diego Renan (Full-Back). A full-back who can play both flanks and great going forward. He did very well for me in my Arsenal save

Plenty more to choose from, but these were some players I've had experiences with in my previous FM games.

Sandro is a great DMF that I signed in my Spurs game, but he cost me around £15m, so well out of your range.

Other players with potential at that position include Lee Cattermole (a personal favorite of mine, who I rate very highly) & Miguel Veloso (expensive, but was a key player for me in my FM09 Spurs game).

I think Jack Rodwell can grow into a dominant holding MF in time, he already is a regular for Everton in my game at 18 years old.

I like the way Croatian Ognjen Vukojevic looks, he plays for Dinamo Kiev & has pretty good stats, looks like a good box-to-box DMF who can chip in the odd goal.

Ghanan Anthony Annan is another one to look for, he's got great tackling, Marking, Workrate stats and tremendous physical attributes. I would highly suggest this guy, I might have gone with him over Sandro in my save if I realized how good he was, and he can be had for quite a bit cheaper than Sandro I would assume.

Tinga is another young DMF with some potential that can be had for around £3m. He can easily develop into one for the future.

My scout said Dinamo would have no intention of selling Vukojevic, so I'm not going to follow up on that. I've put in a bid for Anna of $6.5M + a sell-on fee because my scout said he would be available for $6.5M, but Rosenborg are looking for something around $7.5-8M. I still have time to negotiate, maybe bring it down closer to 6.5 or 7. He does look like he's class though.

Two young Brazilians that I usual scoop up is most my games. Maicon I run as a Poacher and when I played as Rangers he dominated after I brought him in January. Bernardo is also pretty good but he usual gets alot better over time. I run him as Center Mid as a Advanced Playmaker on attack.

That's a ton for Vukojevic, I'd pass on that one...

Annan is well worth it, he's a class player & will develop even further. I'd have gone with him instead of Sandro in my save, not that Sandro is bad, he was just ultra expensive compared to Annan. His only downside is you'll lose him for the ACN in January. Not a big deal though assuming you don't have a plethora of African players in your squad.

As I don't have '10 yet, I'll give my only suggestion in this field, that I found in 09

              Martin Galvan- MF

He's a 15/16 year old in Cruz Azul squad in Mexico. Wenger's been rumored to be interested in him.

In my game he turned into a smaller version of Kaka
Don't you EVER read my blog? It's gotten a lot better.

The one thing I hate about being in 2013 is that the cheap guys listed are now all way too expensive.

Iker Muniain is one of the best bargains in the game. He can be had for ridiculously cheap and his stats balloon with the right training and tutoring.

I always like to buy Maicon, also Alan from fluminense is a very good striker just a bit injury prone
