Thanks for all the replies in response to my questions on this game. I purchased the DVD-Rom version of it and it should be here Monday. Besides the FM site, are there any other sites I should know about that might have great mods for this game or roster updates?

How well does this play on a laptop?

Looking at the system requirements my video card isn't 128MB.

I downloaded and played the demo but gameplay was choppy at times.

I have a macbook that is about 5 years old and the game plays OK on it. It will not work with the 3D Match engine, but will work well with the 2D engine. It also depends on the number of leagues you have running. I'm currently in year 2015, but only running 4 leagues.

When you say 4 leagues, do you mean you're playing 4 leagues or in your season you have EPL, Ligue 1, La Liga, and Serie A (for ex) as the only leagues running?

Exaclty, I'm managing Tottenham in the EPL, but have La Liga, Serie A, and Bundesliga also running. I believe my laptop would be able to handle a few more. I once tried about 13 leagues, but it was unbearably slow.

That's what I thought.

If you only play say 2, 3, or 4 leagues, does that impact whom you can scout, sign, etc?

Yes. The more leagues you have, the larger the player pool. However, you can also load all players from a particular country, continent, national team etc.

It's totally up to you how you want. More players and leagues = slower game speed....

I'm 99.9% sure I'm going to get the game, than I'll just have to mess with it to see what works best.

Just need to turn off all unnecessary programs and processes to use my relic of a laptop for full footy glory!

Make sure that you download the latest patches before you start. They fixed a good number of bugs and glitches. They also have updated the roster after the winter transfer window.
