Hardest Team you ever managed?
Just as the title states? What is the hardest team you ever manage, or better yet hardest league you ever been in?Tags: None -
Re: Hardest Team you ever managed?
I also had a rough patch in the Russian Premier league at some team I don't remember the name of. I think the language barrier played a role in my demise there. -

Dongjin in China. Finding good enough Chinese players was hard.
Any league with tight nationality restrictions is normally harder then the rest for me. Russia, Malaysia etc.

Re: Hardest Team you ever managed?
I found it really difficult managing New York Red Bulls in the MLS. It wasn't really the team, more the draft/transfer rules of the MLS that I found really restricting.Comment

Re: Hardest Team you ever managed?
International managing is tough if you're in a nation that doesn't have a deep talent pool. Requires a ton of tactical and player knowledge...it's not like you can go and buy a guy to fill a spot.Comment

Re: Hardest Team you ever managed?
In FM 12 I was quickly canned by QPR after foolishly starting a career there after the Jan update (waste of spending, no money left to do anything). Sat out the season and picked up Cittadella in Serie B who were in the relegation zone. Had very limited money and managed to finish 1 point out of relegation. The next season I finished mid table and my name is making the rounds around Italy but it went down to the wire the season before.Comment

Had the same thing happen to me as Blackpool. It was frustrating as hell.Comment

Re: Hardest Team you ever managed?
My favorite game ever in FM was when I took Vauxhall Motors to be mainstays at the top of the EPL and Champions League. It took 20/25 years before I actually got them to that point. Crazy fun though.
I low low-level management games, as that is what I play the most.
If there's a feature in this one to make it easy to sell off deadwood, it will just help me that much more. I'd always bring so many players in when I got bumped up a division that I'd have 40-50 players under senior contracts and it would kill me for the year that they were all there.
Last year was taking part-timers Diegem in Belgium to the top league. Speaking of FM13, I have been feverishly downloading graphics packs on this new computer. 3GB of logos are done, as are 200MB of icon faces. Currently almost done with my 5.2GB facepack. Now to just wait for the good skins to be released, and a full pack of kits so I don't have to piece them together.badComment

I always manage Hercules Club de Futbol Alicante. It usually takes me 8-10 years to turn this club around and get promoted and stay up.Comment

Re: Hardest Team you ever managed?
Playing with a 3rd division portuguese team (if you can see 3rd division).
It's hard to find good portuguese players, because you don't know any, and you rely on the youth players, that aren't always good, as you need them to be.
At least for me it was, to get them to the third place of the 2nd division. Next season after that, took a job on my favourite portuguese team, became champion two consecutive years, won champions league, and went to train Liverpool. It's also a hard team to train, but if you buy good players (within the transfers money you get) you can easily get the 3rd place.Comment
