Concern for playing with no Internet

    Hi.

I was just reading up on Football Manager. There is a digital download (for when it comes out obviously), but, what concerns me is the statement on their site:

"A Steam account, registration with enclosed serial code and internet connection are required to play."

Does that mean I can ONLY play this game if I'm connected to the internet? So I can't play it if I'm traveling on a plane, or say the internet goes down, etc..?

No, you can set Steam to play in offline mode. But you need Steam initially to download the game.

Bingo. If your going somewhere on the road, just go onto steam and click go offline. Played in the car on the way to Virginia last month.

Yep, I played many times offline with Steam no issues.

You just have to install it on Steam once. I am able to play my FM without Steam by simply pointing to the game directly in Program Files > Steam > steamapps > common > football manager 2012 > fm.exe

Once I try to open the game, it prompts me to login to Steam but the game still loads, plays, and saves perfectly fine.
