unable to login since recent update

It's been a week of constant troubleshooting, driver update verification, back and forth with Steam and SI to no remedy. Is anyone else experiencing this and overcome the issue? Since the update it still won't load. its becoming frustrating and am thinking of getting my refund as I am within the 14 days at this point.

This is my last shot at this so any help is appreciated.

A good friend of mine experienced this, and the thing that finally made it work for him was a disk defrag.

I couldn't for the life of me to get the game past the initial load up, what finally did it for me was putting the game in windowed mode.
Another thing you can do is go to the task manager to get back to the desktop, BUT do not use the task manager(just close it), and go back into FM, it should load up.
