Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***

I think we played really well against Chelsea and were unlucky to come away with nothing. It's been a day, and I still don't know what the **** Drogba did on his goal. His balance and control of his body is just awe-inspiring. And then Alex's ****ing bullet of a free kick, I don't even think Casillas could have stopped that.

    - I liked what I saw from Fabianski, can't blame him at all on either goal and he stopped some tough shots.

    - I want to take a drive into the country with Arshavin and ****ing leave him somewhere and speed off.

    - I love Jack Wilshere. He has a mean streak and he works hard. But at the same time, he's creative as **** and has great vision. Kid is going to be a stud.

    - Nasri needs to stop playing wide, he's too talented in the middle to waste on the wings.

    - Seriously, go back to Russia, Arshavin.

Agreed. The team played well in defeat save for Squillaci and Arshavin. Fabianski played well and was not at fault for either goal.

My thoughts are similar to that of what a lot of people have said. Chelsea were the better team and they did exactly what they had to do to win. I do think if Fabregas, RVP, and Walcott had played, the result could have been very different.

I might sound like a fanboy, but it's always hard to win when your 2 best players aren't playing. Wilshere played well yet again and I like Nasri more and more as he's playing so well

I think we're going to be OK for a top 4 finish. We dropped some points, but Chelsea will drop some points, and Spurs, United, and City already dropped points.

We're 7 points out, but we have 31 more games to play. A lot can happen and I still think we can mount a challenge. I'm sad we lost, but looking forward to better days ahead - especially when we get Cesc, Walcott, and RVP back

What ever happened to the Arshavin that destroyed us at Anfield with those 4 goals in early 09? He's a shell of his former self.

Do you guys also agree that Song was losing a lot of balls in the midfield? He seems to not know how to play physical on the ball without getting fouls called.

I would say so. I know there are those who would argue his talent/ability, but to those people, I say watch each Arsenal game with and without him. He has one of the best left foots in the game and he and Cesc hooked up for some amazing goals last season. Plus, he brings a physical nature that we sometimes lack.

Not saying you're one of those people, just preparing a defense for one of those people.

As for this season, one could argue Walcott was our second best player before his injury. His pace is truly a game changer.

I would say RVP is our 2nd best player. As UglyOrgan said, he's got an amazing left foot and when healthy, he's very very good. The issue with RVP is that he's had one healthy season and that was 2008-09. Even then, he missed a few games with knocks. At least this year, he's out at the beginning of the season and not the middle to the end

Walcott was playing really well before his injury and I've always said that Theo will be great if he ever gets an end product and starts scoring. He also needs to stay healthy because he's always seemingly hurt

I think all in all, we need our injured players back and then I think we can fully evaluate our team.

Don't you mean "new signings" instead of "injured players back?"

But we don't need new signings, as getting our injured players back will be just like new signings.

Yeah, its RVP. I hope to God you wouldn't actually think they meant Theo.

Granted, Theo played well before the injury, but he is going to have to show he can perform like that on a consistent basis before I can consider him to be in the upper echelon of Arsenal players.

um you need to watch that game its the worst 4 goal performance of all time

he did 4 good things and 20 terrible things

he reminds me of Overmars in that respect

Arshavin is and always has been lazy, but he now seems to deliberately run himself out of position to defend.
I.E. charge at the defense try and trick your way round lose possesion and continue to jog on for 3-4 yards thereby making it pointless to get back as your already out of position- watch him after to loses the ball its truely shocking

the good news is 2 years ago with the little russina playing we lose that game 4 -0

this year it took a last second wonder free kick and a slightly flukey flick from didier to do us and dont forget two of the worst headers ive ever seen

we have problems but we are a better team than last year and we are missing a lot of players our captain included

too early to panic but to early to give Fab the No1 jersey too
                            "whats wrong with him?"
                            "he's got a concussion boss"
                            "can he play?"
"boss he does nt know who he is!"
"well tell him he's Pele and get him fecking back on"

Well, now Sagna's injured. But it's minor, and if that's our only injury from the international break, we made out much better than in years past.

He said he'll be out for three weeks. While it's minor in a sense, that's still a decent blow to our back line. Eboue can obviously fill in, but my fear is he'll go waaaaay too far forward. However, that could also help create chances.
