We're a much better team than the one that started Diaby a ton last season, and if Aaron Ramsey can eventually make it back, that's just one more midfielder vying for PT. This is the first season in a long time that we've actually had adequate cover for injuries and don't have to listen to Wenger claim that healthy players are like new signings (though he may trot the line out with Vermaelen if no center back is signed in the transfer window).
The problem is that even when Vermaelen returns, we're left with two CB's that can handle PL action.

Vela's off to WBA on loan. Should get more action at the Hawthorns than he would if he joined Bolton. Doubt he'd play ahead of Super Kev or Elmander.

I just don't see a huge future for him at Arsenal. I don't see him being a first team regular for a very long time unless there are massive injuries.

He has no future at Arsenal. We need to cash in on him now while he is still young and has some value.

I have to say I agree with the last 2 posts on Vela. I know he's had injuries, but let's face it - if he deserved to play more, Wenger would be starting him regardless of age and experience.

Vela's got talent, but he hasn't shown me that he's consistent nor even ready for the Premier League. His skill set would be better suited in Spain.

Anyhow, I hope he does well at WBA to prove to us that he can be a force in the Prem. That would be awesome

6am here, anyone else up for the game?

              Squad is...

Almunia, Eboue, Squillaci, Koscielny, Gibbs, Denilson, Diaby, Nasri, Arshavin, Bendtner, Chamakh. Subs: Fabregas, Rosicky, Van Persie, Walcott, Song, Wilshere, Szczesny

I'm going to say Arsenal win 4-0.

Well, 2-1, a bit off my prediction. Plus, a very flat and poorly played game for the most part. If only the entire team had the spirit that Fabregas had when he came on, we'd be unstoppable. But, that is never going to happen. Nice to see the win, though. Also, nice to see Bendtner get a goal and get to play up front after playing out on the wing a few times.

Nasri went out with a hamstring injury, though. Hopefully not serious, although he didn't look very confident about it.

Wenger said he's a doubt for Barca....terrible loss if that were the case.

Anybody else want to see if we can offload Arshavin, Diaby, Bendtner or maybe even Chamakh in any way to Liverpool and try to get Torres. I know there's only today to get a deal done but Torres could be the key man in deciding whether or not we win a title this year or just challenge for the next 3 like the past 5.

Wenger is not spending that kind of money, ever.

Yeah, let's break the bank and have 2 injury-prone strikers up top!

They can collide with each other going for a ball, and then explode on impact.

I don't want his poor form anywhere near this team. I'll take an in form and healthy RVP over Torres at this point in their career.
