Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
It's also all part of a bigger issue, which is clubs consistently being screwed by countries. I've never bought into the country is bigger than club, because with the money involved in the modern game, club is just as important in a business sense.
I hope this is true, for Liverpool's sake as well. Carroll was just finally returning to fitness. He needs a Summer to recover and train, not be involved in a tournament.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
The Telegraph is reporting that we've been told along with Man City that we can purchase Gary Cahill for £17 million.
I think that is a fair price. He's 25 years old and has three years PL experience.
However, if we could afford someone like Neven Subotic from Dortmund for the same price, I'd prefer him.
Telegraph is also reporting Roma are interested in Denilson. I don't think it really matters where he goes, as we all know he's going and most likely to Spain or Italy. I wonder about price, though. £10-15 million?Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
His comments this past week really weakened the team in terms of negotiations. I think 10 would be the top price we could get, and that would only happen if a bunch of teams are in on him, which I doubt will be the case."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. I know a lot of you guys rate Nick. Personally I always thought he was a stiker who couldn't do the main thing a striker needs to do which is score goals, so I will be glad to see him off.
So, that makes 3 of the 6 players I want to see out of the club being linked with moves. So far so good. Just need to see Vela, Squillaci, and Rosicky being shown the door.
Also, a lot of rumblings that Clichy is off to Inter.Last edited by ZM Punk; 05-23-2011, 05:22 AM."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."

I'm sure Squillaci was given a one year contract, so I have a feeling he's out. I see Vela sticking around for some reason, but could see Rosicky being sold as well.Last edited by Krebstar; 05-23-2011, 10:19 AM.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
I'd like to see Clichy stay because I'm not sure Gibbs is ready yet and I would rather focus on other areas of the squad than have to deal with a potential hole at left back. This was not close to Clichy's best season, but I feel a large part of that was due to him having to compensate for the deficiencies of the center backs.Comment

There are grumblings that we're looking at Mario Götze, but who isn't. He could easily play out on the left in place of Nasri, though. Not sure how realistic that signing is, though. Plus, I'd rather just have Nasri resign for 5-6 more years.Comment

I guess we're asking £9 million for Bendtner.
Also, read on the ArseBlog this morning that Arshavin could move back to Zenit for £7 million. That would be a blow to us, but I guess he was useful for a bit.Comment
