A very good defensive fist half, keep it up gunners.

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
As a fan of a team that Tom Hicks destroyed financially, saved by the courts and Nolan Ryan, I've got to agree. The boys who now run Liverpool know this too; it's no mistake that the Red Sox finally beat the curse a few years ago. Arsenal will have to do the same in order to make runs for Championships.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

Walcott and Arsharvin looked rather poor, I am honestly disappointed in those two especially Walcott more he just looked stupid out there. Hats off to Sagna, Vermaelen and even Nasri giving his all for his last possible performance. I am still optimistic that this will be a productive performance, but optimistic can only take you so far.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
It was a "good" first half, defensively. Walcott did basically nothing and was very disappointed with his performance today, although, we all know he has that in him.
I was also pleasantly surprised by Nasri's performance, as well as several of the "young bucks", but this just isn't going to cut it in CL or the BPL... it's looks to be a long season, especially given the fact that AW seems reluctant to pounce on available talent. It boggles my mind that does.
Frimprong played well and is just young - his youthful experience got him the second yellow, and although it was a fair call, it hurt. If by chance we have any more injuries (esp. in the midfield) we may well not finish in the top 6 or so. I know Gervinho and Song (as well as Wilshere) will be back... but I just have a bad feeling after watching these first two games.
I'll be a Gooner 'til the end, but man is this stretch getting tough to weather.
[side note]
i don't really understand the insertion of Bendtner, especially at that point in the game... but then again, I don't manage but a U-12 competitive team.Comment

Good showing by the young guys, but with 4 competitions this year no way our squad is large enough, injuries are unfortunate but you need to be ready for em.ARSENAL FC SAN ANTONIO SPURS HOUSTON TEXANS

Wenger must have zero confidence in Chamakh. Wonder if he'll ask to leave before the window shuts?Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
He doesn't even seem interested in playing football. As of now, something tells me he'll be happy to sit and get paid. Plus, as the fixtures pile up, he'll get some starts ahead of RVP. Sad to say.Comment

This team is bad. We couldn't even muster a draw against a Liverpool team that looked like they would have rather been in the North Pole than playing football today."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."

**** Wenger man. His post match press conference has him saying "Frimpong was a victim of his inexperience..." Well ****, don't you think the team, the club and the fans are a victim of his inexperience too as a DIRECT result of your bull**** stubbornness to add depth to our depleted squad with the over £50M you have to spend? Yeah injuries are unforeseen, but you have to plan for them and if he didn't see Fab and/or Nasri leaving he's ****ing blind. **** him. I hope we win nothing, finish out of the CL and he is gone. Bring in someone to spend our money and who will only have to worry about 3 competitions his first campaign.Comment

Yes he's been pretty slow in the transfer market and yes, we are not as good now. However, the same manager you want fired has delivered Premler League titles, FA Cups, and brought this club to where it is today in terms of stability and regular CL appearances. You also forget that players like Cesc, Henry, Vieira, Freddie, and Nasri would never be the players they are/were because of Wenger
To want us to finish out of the CL to get Wenger canned is ridiculous and quite frankly, stupid. No one is happy right now with what's happened, but here are the facts:
Cesc wanted to go back to Barca and we were going to lose him this summer anyway. It's sad, but no one is surprised and good luck to him
Nasri wants to leave because he's a greedy POS and his agent and Wenger have some negative history. 25 million and bye bye.
We have a lot of cash to spend, but to react and spend it too fast is not smart either. SAF didn't blow his 80 million Ronaldo money until he found the right players and Wenger will do the same. Do I wish he signed players sooner than he is? Sure, but life goes on and to be fair, our central defense has not been the reason we've been poor so far this season
Anyhow, I'm done ranting. I think Wenger has made mistakes, but asking for us to suck for him to get fired is NOT the solution. He's done much much more good for this club....Comment

As for today's performance, we were poor indeed and I'm not sure what's wrong with Theo. Arshavin sucks and needs to go. I'm really unhappy with the way things have started, but there are 36 games left and time left in the transfer window. We will get through this and get better.Comment

I agree with everything you said accept for SAF part. Ferguson was in a much better position to wait than Wenger is. You better believe if Fergy was in the position Wenger is when Ronaldo left he would have spent the money that instant. Not a doubt in my mind whatsoever.
Wenger has brought them to where they are. Is he going to keep them where they should be?Comment
