You meant that the ONLY way Wenger would sign him is if he was quality. Anything less is just blasphemy to sign a player to the Arsenal.

I feel like a fool for posting that after it had been before. For some reason I didn't go back a page. Oh well.

Anyway, if the deal does piss of Lille, I don't think it matters as the Hazard deal already seemed dead.

When the kid shows out for Arsenal this year, make sure you sig this post.

          The kid looks decent.

I think he means we need someone basically near the same level as RVP if we're going to sign a striker. Someone is much more proven and we know can step in and play.

            I don't think it'll be a bad signing, though.

I'm really hoping we can sign Cahill. Just spend the money, Arsene.

When you sell two of your best three players you need more than decent. If he takes the EPL by storm then I will definitely sig this post or whatever. If that will make you feel better, but I'm not too worried about it.

I've seen the kid play, so its not like I have no basis to go on. Like you said, he is a tidy player but that's it.

Kreb, I don't mean to sound insensitive, but who were you guys expecting to be available (at RVP's level) at this point in the transfer window?

High demand, low supply. Clubs know you have a lot in the bank with Cesc and Nasri gone, so people are going to squeeze you. I read somewhere that Lillie told Arsenal that Hazard was worth 2X what they sold Nasri for. I sure as hell wouldn't pay that for Hazard. I guarantee, if Arsene had made that deal at that price, you guys would be calling for his head immediately.

I think Cahill makes a move to Emirates, but you guys still need a creator in the midfielder. He's working on it. Have faith in the man, he's been doing well for a while now. I think short term, it doesn't look all that great but in the long term, Arsene is going to be able to make moves when others cannot.

I think Arsene is putting whoever takes over in a few years in a wonderful financial situation, as before long the club will be raking in cash. However, does he also leave the team in a state where it'll be hard to attract top talent?

Bolton have even said we can have Cahill if we meet their valuation. I highly doubt they're asking too much for Cahill, so I would guess that unless Arsene completely screws the pooch and acts too stingy, Cahill will have a Gunners patch on his jersey before the end of the window.

Apparently their valuation is £17 million. Which is a bit high, considering it's the last year of his contract. However, I say just pay it. He has the potential to be a CB of the future with TV5 and he fits into our squad. Hopefully we up our bid and they sell. They want to sell and need the cash as their debt is around £100 million.

Agree completely. It's a bit high, but we're not in a position to put up too much of a fuss over price. As you said, he has the potential to be our CB of the future, we're swimming in cash at the moment, and you have to pay for top tier talent.

BTW, the prospect of both him and TVM5 in the box on offensive corners has me drooling. Both are fantastic at heading, and quite frankly we could use some more aerial ability on corners and set pieces.

The lineup for Arsenal against Man U. No Vermaelen or Sagna at back equals lack of experience against Man U with Coquelin in the midfield, yikes I don't like Arsenal's odds to pick up points in this game.

That was certainly an unlucky span of five minutes.

Wenger says that signing a striker is "close" and that he's "still looking for a midfielder and a defender."
