Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
Wenger's lost the plot. Each of our three games so far he's blamed the loss or tie on lacking experience, or missing too many players through injury or suspension. All of those things are simply solved by him bringing in players. He keeps saying that we don't need to buy for the sake of buying, but we do. We need more players with experience and we need to pay those players to be here. He's too stubborn with his transfer policy and him staying manager means we won't see any signings at all, or we will see a few and they will all be similar to a Jenkinson or Squillaci or Silvestre. Wenger needs to go. He's done so much for this club that I'd hate to see him lead us out of the CL after this year. The players are starting to lack belief in him the way most fans are. A fresh face is needed to spark life into our squad.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
After this game, I went out for a nice lunch with my wife and son and felt better because this was probably the worst display from any Arsenal side I've seen.
I'm not going to give my recap, but all I will say is that we really need to re-assess the situation this club's in. The young prospects that Wenger has signed aren't ready and we don't have enough senior players who are of quality save for TV5, Sagna, and RVP. Rosicky is a reserve player and Arshavin is woeful. This club is not poor. Our wage structure sadly is archaic now and we will need to change this if we are to compete with the Manchester clubs and Chelsea.Comment

Fixed your post.
That was embarrassing. If that doesn't tell you that you need to break the bank on some players I don't know what will.
I guess this is what it feels like to support Wigan. Because we had a relegation level side out on the pitch today. Also, I now know why Wenger played an out of position Sagna over Traore the last couple of games. That was the worst I've ever seen a LB play at Arsenal.
Just a complete and utter joke this team is at this point. Top 4 my ***, if anybody thinks we can finish top 4 with this current squad they have completely lost it."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."

You really have to blame the Arsenal management then blame Wenger. Really the owners of this club like some of you said have to really assess their ways. I mean I read somewhere that Nasri wanted is increased wages at about 90,000 pounds a week before the deal to re-sign him collapsed. I mean it is not over for Arsenal but I would like to see the team adapt to the new society.Comment

I'm all for not paying insane transfer fees, but in order to bring players in and keep them, we have to pay them what is now standard. Otherwise, we become what Spurs were for so many years and what Aston Villa were under O'Neil.
Although, if we play like today, we won't be near either of those.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
I think Robin will give Arsenal and its (this) season a chance before moving, be it UCL or EPL. I only know that he is very loyal to the team and to Arsene, maybe even think like him. So, as of now, I don't see van Persie ringing emergency to get out of the club. What will happen next? Who knows? I think it goes deeper than being in a losing or winning situation.
I think the key words here, are supporting cast and team chemistry. Maybe it's a case of signing the right players, as opposed to signing big names.Only respectable people deserve respect, you destroyed the game.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal "Gunners" Thread***
Supporting cast for whom. I mean when you look at this team closely there are four top quality players on this team right now. RVP, Wilshere, Sagna, and TV5...that's it. Gervinho has looked really good but I'm not ready to call him top quality. Now there are guys like Ramsey who have potential to be top quality but aren't there yet by any means.
This team needs some more top quality players if we want to realistically compete."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."

I don't think you can find any positives when you get beat 8-2...but that's just me."The academic support at Ohio State, there is no way you can fail. Even if you're giving minimal effort there is no way you can fail."
