I would like to see additional reinforcements brought in, given we sold RVP, but my gut says that's unlikely unless Song leaves. If Song stays and only Bendtner and Squillaci leave, I think we're done in the market. Thoughts? (I hope I'm wrong.)

Is it even confirmed that those two are leaving?

Not at all, just my speculation given Bendtner's comments and the earlier offers for Squillaci. I do think it's very likely Bendtner is sold.

I still think we'll bring someone else in, regardless of if anyone leaves.

Bartley to Swansea. Not sure if it is a loan deal or straight sale.

                That would be awesome.

Vermaelen has been appointed as the new captain, and Arteta the vice.

Fairly obvious choice. Mature, and is known to be a vocal leader of sorts.

Apparently Walcott will have a fitness test for tomorrow, while The Ox and Koscielny are both out.

I see Wilshire has taken RVP's #10. Podolski has taken Park's #9 and Cazorla has taken Wilshire's old #19.

Arteta is vice-captain? Why not Sagna? Anyways, remember this article, http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/foo...nger-ever.html

A little bummed about RVP leaving especially to Man Utd out of all the choices, he was one of my favorite players now that is over with me. Can you guys believe he is the fifth Arsenal captain sold in the past seven years, the Arsenal captain band has strange juju, I hope we don't see Vermaelen leave next.

Wenger said Song could go if he wanted to during his press conference, so it seems Arsene is taking a strong stance here: if you're not committed to this club and helping Arsenal win, you can leave.

Also, Arsenal appear to be attempting to hijack Sahin's loan move to Liverpool at the last second. If the rumors are to be believed, Sahin would prefer Arsenal over Liverpool as he would like CL football, whereas Mourinho would prefer Sahin go to Liverpool.

Sahins agent leaves the Bernabéu without an agreement - Sahins departure from Madrid is taking longer than planned. An agreement for his transfer still needs to be reached before the Turkish player can begin packing his bags.

Regardless of whether or not the specifics are true, Wenger did admit at the presser to having interest in Sahin, so we'll see what happens.

i can see why barca wants song, but the role he will play in vs the money they will spend just does not make sense. unless they plan on rearranging their midfield in the somewhat near future. maybe xavi retiring, or plans to move someone else.

because of songs contract, i just don't think now is the right time to make the move for him. then again who is to say we dont have another rvp situation brewing.

"@bbcsport_david 1:05pm via Twitter for BlackBerry:

Alex Song set for Barca move. Clubs negotiating, won't play on Sat, Sahin lined up on season-long loan as replacement #bbcfootball #afc #fcb."

Sahin would be a fantastic replacement. I really hope this rumor is true.
