Well he may not if Giroud is out till Christmas. When you only have 1st acceptable striker you are playing with fire...

Thing is I wouldn't be at all surprised if we didn't buy another striker, as good as Wenger is, he seems a bit too stubborn sometimes. I've seen several reports about him saying that 'the squad is good enough' yet I think we're 3/4 players short of seriously contending! But then I'm not a manager so I shouldn't really judge!

He'll be sorry for passing on Balotelli for that price. Unless we get a world class striker.

We'll see about that. Balotelli just can't behave himself so I understand why Arsene didn't make the move. Plus we just finally able to rid ourselves of dead weight Bendtner who was another head case.

But yeah, we need at least 3 bodies before the transfer window closes. No excuses, no waiting we have to get this done.

I can feel the doom and gloom approaching. And it's probably warranted.

We still have, on paper, the most talented squad we've had in years. The transfer window isn't over yet. I'm annoyed Wenger waited this long (like he always does), but I'm holding off any feelings of doom and gloom until the transfer window shuts and we get to see how to we play with Walcott back in the lineup.

Except that Balotelli is twice as talented as Bendtner. For 16 million, why not? He's at an age where he has to go hard or go home. And he supports Arsenal so that'd be like extra motivation. Wenger is great at coaching players with difficult personalities (see Van Persie). My point is: If we're not planning on getting anyone else, we should have just taken a punt on Balotelli. He has more talent than Giroud and Sanogo. What would have been the risk anyway? It's not like our locker room was going to crash and burn because of his presence. We maybe would have lost a few million if he didn't develop. Disregard this post if Wenger is bringing in a world class CF though.

I think you are right, however I think Arsenal sees the same thing with Balotelli. Lets see what happens after we beat Bashiktas. Khadira will be alot less then we expect and I have a feeling they will throw a lot of money at a forward and take a CB in on loan.

I just wonder who will be the best fit up front. I would take someone older with experience like a Mario Gomez or Dzeko.

People are seriously underestimating just how bad of a teammate Mario Balotelli is. Wenger isn't going to risk messing with team chemistry for him. Milan wasn't pimping him out for no reason.

Wenger confirmed Podolski is staying, which is good news because we can't afford to lose a forward at this point.

If these Falcao to Real rumors are true it means Benzema is on the way out. He would be a great pickup for you guys.

Latest from Ornstein said that we're staying with what we have, and the Giroud injury will not see us get a striker via purchase or loan.

                          Hopefully that's not true.

This has to happen. Carvalho at only £24 million now plus they want Gnabry or Coquelin on loan for 2 years. His price has been cut in half damn near, plus Man Utd may lurk if they can't get Vidal.

This kid was the best Portugal player at the World Cup, brilliant passer and tough as nails. Also he is only on €8,000 a week. Absolutely nuts he's only getting paid that. We can quadruple that standing on our heads. Arsene, please do the deal.

Didn't Benzema just sign a five year extension in the past month?? Besides no chance we sign a striker. None... Being a Gooner is like being in permanent purgatory sometimes. Sigh....

Yeah, he's there unto 2019 but Real has been flirting with Falcao for like 3 years now and he wants to go. I mean, I haven't seen you guys linked with him but if they sign Falcao he'll want out and Arsenal offers him a CL club (most likely) in a major city with fairly good talent around him and the unquestioned #1 spot. Plus old friends Giroud & Ozil. I thought Giroud & Benzema played pretty well together up top at the WC.
