Let us celebrate tonight's victory with this wonderful picture of Kos.

Before someone says we played a bad team, just remember we've played lots of bad teams and not won convincingly. Class performance from Welbeck and the Ox, who was a constant threat. Alexis and Ozil building chemistry and this was a glimpse of what we can do.

True, and don't hate me... but I feel Ozil didn't play that well. Not that he played bad but he can be much better, as he lost the ball multiple times in the offensive third. And I love the guy, I'm still so thrilled that AW signed him!!

It was such a fun game to watch, except the Wojo Whoa moment, that it gives me hope this weekend at Chelsea - it's gonna be a huge challenge for sure, but other than Scsz's moment and Flamini's ridiculous tackle on Schneider I think the Arsenal are up for it.

If a little bit vulnerable means decent teams can just walk through our midfield at times then I agree. To be honest, Ox shines a light on Wenger's weakness which is his inability to prepare and execute different gameplans for certain teams. Wenger always goes with the same gameplan, doesn't matter if we're facing Bayern or Stoke. Betting a tenner on Wenger setting his team up to play a high line and us getting wrecked on the counter.

We were exposed a couple times against Spuds. If he goes for it I believe we are setting ourselves up for failure.

Galatasaray isn't a bad side at all. Truthfully, they are NO bad sides sneaking into the Champions League anymore. But wow did their manager screw the pooch on their tactics... 3-5-2 with a high back line??? Terrible tactics and Arsenal were clinical at taking them apart. Wojech stupidity is the only damper on the night, but we may start to see Ospina more now. Three points with no injuries is fine with me right now. Take 6 out of 6 from Anderlecht and we will be fine for getting out the group to take our usual hiding in the Round of 16...

3-5-2 w/ a high-line against a very pacy Arsenal attack. Not only that, but then Felipe Melo (a CDM) at CB and Sneijder in a defensive role. I should have made some $ off that one.

The whole team played terribly. Ozil and Sanchez taken out of the game. Ozil again played on the flank which makes no sense because he's not effective there. Wilshere's final ball was dodgy and Welbeck starved of service.

I'm not saying Ozil is having a great year by any means but he's not been as terrible as the British media would have you believe

I'm so happy I've gone into this year with a very, very cynical view of what we can accomplish. A 2-0 defeat to that Chelsea side? I'll take it, I guess. Could've been worse, and we at least kept it close.

Did we play well? No. Should Chambers learn to not pick up a card each game? Yes.

At least we have a game after the break against Hull in which we should pick up three points.

Well I'll say this. Other than the Costa goal where our cb's fell asleep and Hazards penalty because Kos was trying to cover for the rest of his defense we actually shuttered Chelsea decently. Up until He scored Costa and Cesc were both relatively quiet. Matic was fantastic for them and really the type of player we need to really compete. Flamini and Arteta aren't good enough in those positions

The penalty was one of those insanely frustrating ones. Yes, it was a penalty. But I can't help but wonder what would happen if Hazard stays on his feet and doesn't choose to run into Kos' leg. I know, do it and it's an easy penalty. If he doesn't stick it out maybe we don't give up a goal. Just frustrating.

I do agree that for the most part, we played well defensively against a team that has been shredding people.

Couldn't agree more about Matic. What a wonderful advertisement for what we need.

Defensively I thought we played well for the most part, as has been mentioned by others. And we dominated possession for long stretches, which is also encouraging. But we failed to get off shots, which is same old/same old for Arsenal. Possession means nothing if we can't score.

If Koscielny doesn't take Hazard down then Hazard is 1v1 with the keeper in acres of space and a shot even closer than a penalty. I'd say you probably would have conceded anyways.

In situations like these I would actually argue the penalty is more beneficial to the receiving team (Arsenal) than a goal from open play. Say Hazard doesn't get taken down, now he and the rest of the team are all fired up because Hazard just scored a scorcher of a goal and will be more likely to try and ramp it up. Compared to a penalty where all play is basically halted and then restarted, and the feeling after the penalty is scored is more relief than anything else.

You guys actually played a very good game, though to be fair we didn't shift past 4th gear that game.

I disagree with your assessment of Cesc though, he wasn't quiet at all, he pretty much dictated the tempo of the game.

Just got around to watching the match. Our play in the final 3rd is woeful.

Matic is the kind of player that we are missing as others have pointed out. One of the Bender brothers would be a nice fit.
