Well, they are not as bleak, but they aren't great either. You can say World Cup fatigue or whatever you like, but there is no energy out there except from Sanchez and Welbeck. There no shame in losing at 3rd or 4th best team in Europe in Chelsea at the Bridge and drawing at Goodison but to just hand points away at Leicster, and at home to Hull and Spurs and the way we drew with City hurts your season. Plus getting housed against a Dortmund team who looks awful in the Bundesliga and didn't have Bender, Reus, Ilkay, or Hummels looks worse and worse as the weeks go by. Plus Southampton beat our azz in the League Cup at home, so we can't get the younger guys and fringe guys (Bellerin, Campbell, Podolski, Hayden, Coquelin) more time out there to play. I can point to maybe a 120 minute period across the season where we looked like ourselves and that's the last 10 at Everton, 20 minutes against Villa and the full 90 with City. And when we win, it looks like we have to move heaven and Earth to do it.

Alexis made some other-worldly turns and dribbles. Also his ability to set his feet under him so quick is crazy. Podolski was real unlucky not to get himself a goal after just some awesome volleys. Got two big ones with Anderlecht at home and at Swansea then an international break. Gotta have the 3 in the Champions League since we have some tricky fixtures coming. Theo, Kos, Jack should be all be ready for the home ties with United and Dortmund after the break. After that, our fixtures aren't brutal except at Liverpool and at Southampton during the run up to New Years. Still plenty of work to do but it was good to see a convincing win. Welbeck and Poldoski were unlucky to not score as well as Ramsey and Walcott, Burnley's Goalkeeper kept them in the game.
I wonder whenWenger will finally understand that playing Flamini and Arteta in the midfield just does not work. Both were very lacking with Flamini being easily having the worst performance on that team but Wenger kept him in?Not surprising that the movement in the midfield looked better once Ramsey came in. Hopefully Arsenal can finish this year strong even with the injuries and I will have some serious hope for the second half of the season.

If Jack or Rambo can't play deeper due to health, I wouldn't mind the Ox playing there. With his energy it can help unlock some of these stubborn midfields. And Alexis has to play in the 10 hole until further notice."If you have a linebacker on him, you might as well start singing their fight song." -- WSU coach Bill Doba on Reggie Bush
