Going through a rough patch. Everyone knows Per and Kos were rock solid last year barring the heavy defeats. Per his defensive intelligence is exceptional, that's what makes him a good defender. He has to be partnered up with someone who's athletic though. I fear this year may be the year where his defensive intelligence and awareness can't make up for his physical problems anymore.

Honestly not surprised by that result, a goal from that left side was bound to come about as Chambers got destroyed the whole game. Hats off to Ox, Welbeck, and Sanchez who worked there butts off; the defensive struggles are real.

It was maddening that Chambers was, as you said, destroyed all game, but he got no help. He was hung out to dry. Wenger needed to make adjustments, ensure Chambers got some help. It was only a matter of time before a goal came as a result of Chambers' struggles, so as you said the end result wasn't a surprise.

Yup and that falls on Wenger. He allowed the lack of depth on defense to happen and now we are suffering through a rough patch.

I continue to feel like Arsene has become tactically inept. He still has an amazing eye for talent, and knows when to stick with players, but the rest...I just don't know any longer.

What an disappointing result. Only the second loss this season, but only four wins so far. I would've been fine with a draw, honestly.

A draw against would have been fine but not deserved, 1-0 lead and still too many people pushing up the pitch . Arsenal were so dangerous on the break that they really didn't need to commit so many people forward. If they were more conservative Gibbs wouldn't have had to make that last ditch tackle.

This pic shows how many players were up field prior to the play that led to the equalizing free kick.

Something else I pretty much forgot about until it was mentioned on Arseblog is how absurd it is that Podolski was left on the bench to bring on Sanogo.

When you need a goal, that is who you bring on?

Arsene obviously knows more than we do, but sometimes I seriously wonder if he knows what the **** he's thinking.

I am usually very optimistic about this club but I feel like the wheel is so close to falling off this season. I know Wenger has just signed an extension this past summer, but I have to wonder if this will be his last.

Giroud back in training. Told about a month ago that he would be back for United game. Appears to be on track.

Not sure why you'd jinx it like that

Wilshere man of the match for the 3rd time in a row for England tonight. Controlled the midfield nicely, played some lovely passes with the front men!

It's interesting that the English media was pretty quick to praise Liverpool for their recent contributions to the national team (to be fair, they should get at least some kudos for that), but when everybody is fit, Arsenal have the same number of starters.

Also, I get that Shaw is very good and seen as the future of that position, but imo Gibbs is THE most slept on fullback in the league. Obviously with Cole and Baines it's pretty hard to get a look in at LB, but honestly, Shaw has NOT been better than Gibbs. Like, at any point.

He has been pretty solid but has always has trouble staying fit.
