Monreal has signed a new contract! Great news to start off the day.

When he was brought in as left back cover, I never thought he'd be as vital to our squad as he's become. Great signing for roughly £10m.

I was upset about the draw against Liverpool after we busted our *** to take the lead. But hey, it happens. But the point versus Stoke was massive for us. To not have Carzola, Ozil, Alexis, Coquelin and still get something there will and should give us a boost... In the 10 matches we've played since Alexis got hurt we have 7 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss. The two draws were this week... I'm normally pessimistic about the side often, but even I have to recognize that is great form... We just keep getting healthier and healthier...

Even as recent as last season, when he was being played in central defense in a patchwork "we have nobody else" situation, the general consensus was that Gibbs was the better left back. But then Monreal got a long run of games in the first team and showed just how quality he was. It's become a trend with this team, with the likes of Campbell, Bellerin, and Coquelin being seen as surplus or second options, but then getting a chance due to injury and contributing massively.

The funny thing is after his time spent there and he got better and better at CB and it made him a miles better LB. His heading became much better and his positional sense became excellent too. Typically, Arsene loves attacking LBs (Cashley Cole, Silvinho, and Gibbs) with steady RBs (Lauren and Sagna). Funny to see that flipped now. Either way, it's hard to argue Monreal isn't the most consistent LB in the league and that we don't have the best full back stable in the league... Other than our attacking midfield, probably our strongest collection of players.

Losing to Chelsea, specifically to Diego Costa sucks.

Dropping three points, especially when being the best team on the field down a man SUCKS.

But honestly...this is fine. Leicester has a crazy difficult second half to the year and City is only ahead of us on GD. It makes things tighter sure, but lady luck and incredible form need to be on Leicester's side for them to hold off Arsenal and City. It hurts us but doesn't kill us in the title race.

As far as the Giroud sub, I don't have an issue with it. He's not 100% and likely would not have gone the distance anyway, so it was sort of a necessary evil. We're still getting healthier and stronger and just pushed the game against Chelsea down one on the scoreboard and on the field. There are worse ways today could have ended.

Still wondering what Flamini was trying to do on that cross from Ramsey.

Yay for getting Alexis back though.

Arsenal are ready to fast-track Francis Coquelin back into action this week after the Frenchman's recovery from a knee injury. Danny Welbeck is also due to return to training this week.

Looks like Arsene is gonna get Coquelin back in the fray much faster than I expected. He really slow walked Alexis back into the side, so I figured he would want to be just as careful with Coq, especially since he really is such an essential part of the side.

Coquelin is playing this weekend and Rosicky too. Just leaves Welbeck, Santi and Jack in the treatment room.

Kinda shocked Debuchy hasn't been moved on yet. I'd figured for sure he'd be at least loaned out by now. If he stays, I'm good with it. We just have too many freak injuries to not have good depth at fullback.

I like Elneny's energy... This guy is everywhere on the pitch!!! Just need him to be a bit tidier in possession. To me, he does not look like a holding guy like Coquelin though.

On a more positive note, man, having Alexis back is huge. He just adds so much creativity to our offense.
