Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
He seems like he'll understand how to properly use players—therefore he's not going to expect Ozil to press the same as everyone else.
I expect we'll see several players individually improve—Ozil and Xhaka are at the top of that list to me.Comment

Speaking of #10, Wilshere might be gone, and I think I care far less than I'm supposed to.Support Local Sports

Always a good time to point out that if Arsenal fans could remove one fan from their fan base, Piers Morgan would be the unanimous choice despite Bin Laden being an Arsenal fan.Comment

This one is especially ridiculous though, and the fact that this guy has popped in his two cents takes it to a new level of facepalm.
They do this right around and during the World Cup to members of the English team every time. It's really amazing.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 05-29-2018, 08:09 PM.Comment

It's genuinely awful, Sterling specifically gets the worst of it.Comment

Roberto Firmino pantomimed using a machine gun several times after goals in 16/17. Where were these people then? PES included this celebration in their game!
Sorry for gumming up the Arsenal thread with this tangent guys. I'm done now.Comment

I'd just like to say how thrilled I am at the prospect of landing Lichtsteiner on a free. That would be a solid signing for us. Experience, can provide cover, and can help youngsters continue to develop.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
Also, because I need somewhere to share this, it'll be here.
The fact that people are already worrying that Sven is a failure and has no tricks up his sleeves other than signing Dortmund players is absolutely ridiculous. Out of the two players who have joined so far who played at Dortmund, I'd argue neither are products of Sven's scouting that have been done for Arsenal.
Mkhitaryan was part of a swap deal, and the deal could've occurred without Sven at the club. His presence most likely helped, but it's not as if he could not identify any other similar players to us. Mkhitaryan to Arsenal occurred out of circumstances.
The same can be said for Aubameyang, or something similar. He was on everyone's radar—everyone knows him. It was not a case of Sven telling everyone he found this great striker, or he couldn't think of any other strikers we could bring in. The transfer happened because it could happen, and we took advantage of it.
The potential move for Sokratis is yet again, similar. We need an experienced CB to come in, and if the deal can be easier to reach due to Sven's relationship with the agent then it makes sense. It just so happens that it's another current Dortmund player.
Mavropanos is what I think we'll see more of from Sven, and what he should be judged on. Bringing in the talent that is going under the radar, or not going to cost as much.
The fact that we got Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang should be celebrated, not dismissed as our new head of recruitment relying on his past finds. If we can bring players like that in, we should. I'm sure we'll bring in plenty of other players no Arsenal supporter is aware of similar to Mavropanos.
Just something that has been bothering me. Sven is a fraud! He's recycling Dortmund transfers! Give me a break.Comment
