Pepe photographed at Conley today. It’s happening.

Now let’s move on Mustafi, Koscielny, and Elneny.

Followed by a CB and LB and call it a day!

Moving out two of those three would be immense.

If we can get Tierney across the line, and bring in a CB (selling must first happen, Ornstein mentioned this last week, that could mean either Mustafi or Kos) then this would be a really good window and anyone saying otherwise is just taking the piss.

I'm obviously for Elneny staying, he's the exact type of player I love to have on the bench, and for cup games that don't really matter.

Also, not to defend those people that would call it a poor window, I think they would just be under the wrong impression of the club. I think many of us here understand that currently we are not a title-winning club, people still latching on to history might believe that we should have a transfer window fitting a title-challenging/winning club but that's just not who we are anymore.

I think they would also be too wrapped up in us "not having a budget more than £45m" without understanding that just because we have that much to spend doesn't mean you spend it all this Summer—installments are a very real thing.

Bielik to Derby County for around 10 million pounds. Take that and get Tierney done.

Sell Kos and bring in a CB to replace him and that’s quite the window.

I don’t think you guys are having a poor window. You get a decent CB and you’ve probably had the best window of the top 6. I pretty much think Tierney is a done deal.

If we sell him for £10m with a decent sell on clause that will be magnificent.

Those in charge previously would sell him now for £500k.

I’m not gonna anoint Raul the Savior yet but he’s done quite well in his first Summer window.

I do like the combo of Edu and Raul. Seems like they mean business.

Edit: Seems like Tierney is gonna happen. Well done.

Nah, I don't think it's a bad window or anything, but the people criticizing it would want more proven players I'm sure.

So, obviously links mean nothing, but apparently we're being tied to Rugani if we take on Khedira as well. I love Rugani personally and think he's got good potential. Beyond that, signing Khedira, Tierney, and Rugani in one window would replicate a transfer window I had for Arsenal in a previous FM game, so maybe I'm Edu?

As nice as that is, I wouldn't expect near the same level of production at Arsenal. Statistically I'd be happy with about 1/2 of that. His main goal should be to take pressure off of Auba/Laca in the final third since we don't have anyone else that can do that really. Ozil sits outside the box, Mkhi is... well Mkhi and Iwobi kind of just does Iwobi things.

Regardless if Tierney gets across the line, I assume this is how we'd lineup when fully healthy.

I still expect us to utilize the fullbacks in the offense especially as wide options moving forward. Defensively we'll drop back into what looks like a 4-4-2, while offensively we'll look more like a 2-1-7 utilizing passing triangles. Based on Emery's Sevilla teams we'll use Auba and Pepe in an inside forward role but they, along with Ozil will control most of the play going forward. Ozil acts as the fulcrum of the offense and offers an outlet should it be needed. Xhaka was one of our best progressive passers last year, and should he continue his improvement under Emery I imagine he could act as the secondary fulcrum/creative outlet during offensive play.

Apologies for the crudeness, but offensively I imagine this is what it'll look like in the opponent's area.

Using the triangles as passing lanes, we'll most likely end up getting the ball more into dangerous areas, and on the feet of our attacking threats. While Aubameyang will start out wider, his positioning will most likely be closer to the centre of the pitch as we grow the attacking threat. Behind the triangles we'll rely on Xhaka and Torreira to break up the play if we get caught out, and hope for Holding's atlethicism to have diminished only a little bit as he was one of our better defenders in recovery. If we add Rugani to this lineup he can also fulfill the recovery centreback role better than Sokratis on most occasions.

Defensively we probably go with what we had last year outside of transition, with Torreira shielding the centre of the pitch in front of the centrebacks, Xhaka roaming the play ahead of him following the ball, with Auba and Pepe taking a slightly deeper role defensively to cover marauding fullbacks. If Ozil is playing he and Lacazette will most likely act as the transition team to forward play, with Ozil again as the fulcrum of the play. Ozil's passing would be able to find Auba/Pepe/Laca on a counter and those three in an offensive breakaway should be all we need. During the breakdown they would again be joined by the Xhaka/Ozil contingent with Torreira trailing and offering to reset play.

Obviously, tactically we won't be this rigid, but I assume this is what we'd look like if we were healthy and Emery got his way. Torreira and Xhaka could also switch offensive roles, though personally I'd rather have Torreira breaking up plays.
