Personally, I don't think it has much to do with the buy-in factor of Ozil, I think it's more about tactically Ozil doesn't fit at all what Arteta wants to do. Beyond that, if Arteta is the disciple of Pep, then the 10-role that Ozil excels at is dead, and he's already proven to be largely ineffective on the wing, and isn't very adept at sitting deep in a playmaking role. If Ozil were a few years younger could see him getting some burn to turn him into something he's wasn't prior, but at this point Ozil really just is who he is, and he's really ****ing good at it, so there's not much reason to continue with him in the team knowing all of that.

None of them are really wingers or true midfielders (6/8s).Comment

Well, we should've won that. If Laca puts away his header in the first half (the one where he needed to head it down, not directly forward) we're up 2-0 and I think we hold on for the three points. That shot alone did not cost us the win, but we have to put away those chances early. We've improved defensively, but not enough to hold onto 1-0 leads for too long.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
I think as far as positional awareness goes, the Silvas are much better, because they don't get lost when they have to drop deep to connect, while Ozil normally does. The utilization of Ozil is best when connecting the play through zone 14, while the Silvas can handle zone 14, zone 11, and zone 8. If Ozil could adapt to drop into those deeper zones and connect through the wings, I think he'd earn a place, but the man just looks out at sea the deeper he gets defensively on the pitchSupport Local Sports

What do you guys think of Vardy and Mustafi incident? Where Vardy's boot caught his head. Slowmo it looks bad but live I thought it was clearly an accident.
After the match I'm seeing a lot on Twitter and the EA Forums from Arsenal fans thinking it should be a red since intent doesn't matter.Current careers:

I didn’t really think much of it live—so I reckon that’s my answer lol.
Most everything looks way worse in slow motion lol

Watch that angle, and tell me he didn't purposefully kick/swing his leg around. It's clear that he did.
Not even a yellow card, and not checked by VAR. Arsenal supporters know damn well and have seen enough to know this season that if an Arsenal player did that, it would've been checked and they'd be sent off. The inconsistency is very, very real and it's very frustrating.
Eddie’s tackle was a red. Was he trying to hurt someone? No, but he took an action which endangered another player. I’d love to hear how Vardy didn’t do exactly the same thing.
Vardy intentionally kicked an opponent (and perhaps unintentionally in the face) and receives no punishment, and then proceeds to score the leveling goal that was offside.
**** me. I felt better about it all until I saw that above angle this morning. The kick out was intentional.Comment

Right?! When I first saw it I thought eh, you're falling down and your legs hit an opponent, it happens but let's move on.
But that angle—no, he meant it, he then scored a goal, and he'll be playing in the next several matches.
Definition of getting away with it and being just English enough.Comment

With Nketiah our for the next 3 matches, I would really like to see Auba up top with Saka and Pepe next to him.
Side note: I hope to see Pepe absolutely dance through their **** back 4 tomorrow.
Side note number 2: I’m expecting a huge performance from Tierney tomorrow (will be getting his kit when the new ones drop). He’s played in countless Old Firm matches and I’m sure he’ll be up to the task tomorrow.

I still can't believe he only cost £25m. Yeah, yeah, injury history—still.Comment

That 13' run from Bellerin behind, plus cross (which Auba shanked) should put an end to the "do we need to talk about Hector" crap.
Also, what an awful pass from Kola. Mari, we miss you.Comment
