Just waiting for Auba to sign. If he re-ups he has the potential to become a club legend and it would also be a statement of intent from the club.

I just don’t want another RVP situation.

While our football executive committee is not perfect, I actually don’t think they’ll be selling any players to direct rivals. I think they’d be a bit more ruthless than what we’ve seen in the past.

You want to leave? Fine, but you’re leaving the country.

Raul has left the club. I’d assume Edu is now Acting Director of Football for the time being.

This article dropped right before the club announced his departure. I’m still trying to get through as I type this.

Silent Stan brought in a lawyer who apparently peeled back the books, and didn’t like what he saw in regards to our recent transfer dealings, specifically the Pepe one.

I think this move (hopefully) frees up Arteta to “do” more of what HE wants in the transfer window(s).

I REALLY hope that I am right..

Sounds like Edu is under some scrutiny as well. As well as Huss Fahmy. No idea if they'd be let go, but what a weird morning it's gotta be for Arsenal supporters.

I love the idea of Edu and Arteta being in-charge of the football side of things going forward, if what I read is true.

What I feel like happened is we removed the source of an issue before it became a much bigger issue down the road. I recall that when Raul was appointed there was some uneasiness regarding bringing in someone who had been part of some deals at Barcelona that seemed to have some possible legal issues.

I could be remember incorrectly, but perhaps that uneasiness was always spot on.

As of now, honestly, as shocking as the news is I feel good because it feels like we've removed some serious internal shadiness.

That is a very solid combo. Two people who definitely know the game, and both played under Wenger.

I have a feeling that Raul ****ed the club over on that Pepe deal, and this was a resignation in lieu of termination.

Yeah, I can't help but feel that he did something in a way that he's used to, or he told others 'this is how it has to be done if you want it done' etc, and where he came from (Barcelona) that was fine, but he ran into some people who were way more cautious about where the money is going.

Yes, we give KSE a lot of ****, and we should, but I'll be honest—I'm not mad at internal processes that might point to money be spent in a way that could land the club in trouble, or that someone lined their pockets who should not have, inside or outside the club.

I'd rather Arsenal be teased for being cheap than teased for being dirty.

I mean if clubs are auditing their financials with deep scrutiny, I have more questions for them than I do the ones who do go over financials with a fine tooth comb.

I had uneasiness about Raul, but that's basically because since the Cesc Fabregas stuff, I just can't look at their recruitment the same. It all felt shady and underhanded.
