Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
If 10% of what’s in this article is true, we’re ****ed.
The under-pressure Arsenal head coach suffered his fourth consecutive home Premier League loss at the hands of Burnley
The point remains, though, Arteta is the one picking these senior players week after week who do not give a ****.
Everyone remember Freddie’s last game in charge, at Everton? Remember the message he sent and the starting eleven he chose?
Martinelli, ESR, Nelson, Saka, Chambers, and AMN all started. Freddie knew, and it’s 100% now on Arteta that he refuses to a ditch the players he needs to.
It’s not just the squad, it’s his poor management of it. Guendouzi never played for Arsenal again after the Brighton game, but something tells me after three matches Arteta will throw Xhaka right back in so he can hamper ever attacking move and throw his body an opponents because he has zero positional awareness.
It’s going to get worse from here—Southampton are going to shred us on Wednesday, and on Saturday Everton will kick around whatever is left. After that it’s City in the league cup before Chelsea embarrass us in the league. After that? Brighton do the same that Southampton did to us.

Good morning!
I’m already sick of people saying our issues lie beyond management and players but instead are all a cause of ownership and the board.
Yes, there are lots of issues there, but they’re not easily fixed.
Stan Kroenke is starting Xhaka and Willian every week. Stop absolving everyone close to the squad of blame.Comment

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
I’m so discouraged. It seems over the course of the past 4-5 years we have changed everything. Manager, players, recruitment strategy.
It all continues to fail. I don’t know where the “blame” lies.
People say “the board”. The board isn’t coaching, and the board isn’t playing.
What gives? How is this ever going to be resolved? I had 100% confidence in Arteta. Now I feel like it’s 1%. The players HE has wanted have been outstanding (Partey and Gabriel). This gives me a small amount of confidence. Outside of KT3, mostly everyone else has been trash.
I’m tired of watching this awful football. I’m tired of being an absolute joke.
Play the kids. There’s literally nothing to lose at this point. The “senior” players we have simply aren’t good enough. Damn near all of them.

Every few weeks I think about how we could've had Sven Mislintat as our technical director. But nope.Comment

Even back then if someone gave me the option of everyone leaves except Mislintat, I would've taken it. It's going to be sad to watch the players Stuttgart brings through.
The model was there—we abandoned it over and over as we instead think we can take a shortcut back into the CL—we can't. We tried with Emery's first season, but after that we should've fully gone into a rebuilding mode. Instead, we continued to try and live in both worlds in terms of the signings.Comment

I’m all for playing the Hale End products plus others (Tierney, Gabriel) for the rest of the season.
Auba is not captain material and the aforementioned Tierney needs to get the armband sooner than later.

Re: ***The Official Arsenal Gunners" Thread***
Okay, here's the start of what I'm calling my 'Crap Arsenal Stats' career.
Don't know if anyone cares, but I find it interesting to look these up so I figure I might as well post them here. Arteta's first nine league matches compared to his ten league matches after the restart, compared to the first ten league matches from this season (and then all 12 league matches this season).
My reason for looking at this was asking myself: Did I get carried away? Were my glasses too rose-tinted? I think they were.
Honestly, there's not much (if anything) in the numbers that's promising.
Everything is from Understat—magenta numbers are per match.Last edited by Krebstar; 12-15-2020, 01:15 PM.Comment

Nketiah in from the start. No Aubameyang.Comment

Tight calf. If we play well, it'll cause everyone to wonder if he should've been dropped, though.
The most interesting thing to me is that AMN stays in for Bellerin AND Martinelli makes the bench! The way Arteta has talked about him, once he's fit it seems that he'll use him.Comment
