I also don't think he'll be happy as backup. If he stays and isn't getting the minutes he wants, he'll want out. If he wants to stay and understands that he's not getting the majority of minutes, great, keep him.

But if he wants big money and wants to be the guy, let him do it elsewhere.

Now, with that said, even if we only make Europa League, there's going to be more minutes to go around next season. Apparently we've made one last attempt to get him to sign, but I'm glad that we've clearly been looking elsewhere and are prepared to sign two strikers if needed.

I think in about 10 hours we’ll have some clarity. A win guarantees CL football. That would be hard to walk away from. Lots of minutes available playing across 4 competitions.

I've got no idea what he wants, I'd personally be comfortable paying him anything under 100,000/week if Arsenal have UCL, I don't think I'd go over 100,000 even for as much as I love Eddie. Either way, it's a shame they couldnt' get the deal done before he was about to expire, but I don't think I really blame either side.

Anxiety level 10 for me today. This match, then coaching my sons U10 final tonight. The win would secure 2 straight invincible seasons.

I’d really like to get all the drama out of the way with a win today, and not have to be on edge for the final 2 matches.

I wish I was feeling more confident. Never know what Conte is going to pull..

Hoping the dream stays alive today and everything from last week is behind everyone. Really interested to see what the backline looks like. Hopefully White is fit so it can be him with Tomi to his left, who plays there for Japan, so nothing out of the ordinary. Plus, if Tavares is playing, having Tomi there to cover for him sounds great.

As for Tavares...his future at Arsenal is surely now in doubt as it looks like we're close to signing Aaron Hickey. Maybe he goes on loan, maybe he leaves, we'll see.

Hickey is one I am frequently after on FM. I hadn’t heard these rumblings but I like the sound of it.
