Both teams wanted to keep playing, so good on the referee for restarting play.

I've seen the ball move a lot worse on waterlogged fields. I don't see what the big deal is here. Just have to keep the lines clear.

I'm not sure if these Costa Rica players deserve praise or ridicule for demanding that this this match continue. They've pretty much given away all hope of not giving the USA 3 points.

How so? Right before all that they almost scored twice. They believe they can come back. They could have easily walked off, but they didn't. I respect that.

Exactly. Plus, a 1-0 loss away isn't a bad result for them. Maybe they'd rather take that instead of playing again tomorrow, and flying home on short notice to play again Tuesday.

Respect for them for wanting to play on.

Tomorrow, isn't going to be any better. High here in Denver is 29. So this snow right now, along with the pitch will be frozen. Also, I'm sure both teams have games on Tues, so best to get this thing over with and move on.

Exactly. It's not ideal, but you can't control the weather, and you can't sit around for a week when there's another round of games Tuesday.

I agree with the notion of the classic jerseys, very nice look!
I played quite a few matches in snow like that at the youth level in germany and its a lot of fun! But for a WC qualifier to not be played on a pitch with heat under the field or something is a bit ridiculous, at least brake out the orange ball!lol! either way its still kinda cool and fun tho.

Well, 3 points for the USA. Thank you, Costa Rica.

Still going to have to explain this one. Costa Rica has had some chances, even once the conditions got really bad. Not sure why they are at such a disadvantage.

In my mind, there was no way either team was gonna score a goal after the snow really started kicking in. It was always gonna stay locked at 1-0. Costa Rica thought otherwise, but that's there call.

Am I the only one that thinks Cameron looks way better at right back than Timmy Chandler? Goodson looked good but I think Besler/Gonzalez and Cameron at right back would be ideal.

Well, that was a big win, and I was not expecting either team to score in that weather.
