Loaning him in the first place wasn't the correct decision... especially when you have just one CF and his name is Torres. He looked good in the summer games in the US as well so the loan move was surprising. But as many good moves Chelsea have done to bring in players, loaning Lukaku and selling Meireles are questionable.

Looks like today's game against Wolves we'll see Sturridge at CF.

Looking forward to the Wolves game. Everything crossed that Sturridge plays well and this is the beginning of the end for Torres in a Chelsea uniform.

Sturridge didn't play; Torres did and he scored a goal. Blues right now putting a beat down on Wolves.

Good win, surprised at how many played from starting 11 played but I guess he saw it as a way to get the goals going and they did. Hopefully we can continue this on Saturday's big clash.

I'm not going to fall for it this time and think Torres is gonna start scoring goals now. Nope, not gonna happen.

There's nothing to fall for... his job is to score goals. That's what he should be doing but failing. If we can get a goal every 2 games we'll be good. As long as he's active and creating more opportunities for others then we'll be good. There's a lot of scorers here but we need that CF to keep the pressure off them.

Better bring it Saturday. Need to wash away that 4-2 loss from last year.

The only good thing about that loss was Mata's strike.

I was happy that Marin got some run out there in the side today. Too bad I can't watch it anywhere but from the live tweets/gamethread it seemed like him & Moses were running wild out there.

                    Here are the goals:

Thanks KG. Mata goal was a beauty and the Oscar/Moses hookup was nice. This will be a very dangerous team once they start coming together.

Finished up the replay and I liked what I saw - what's not to like in a win like that albeit against weak opposition? I was disappointed not to see Sturridge at CF as some had indicated may be happening on here pre-game. Torress scored - yes - though as highlighted above, I'm done thinking that we will see any consistency from the Spandiard who is still lacking confidence IMO.

Short term we are looking good, as we develop team chemistry, long term we could be as good as any team in Europe.

Sturridge is still nursing a pulled hamstring. Supposedly it never healed up from the Olympics.

Last year we draw that game giving up a late equalizer. There were some nervous moments at the end but I really thought we'd catch them on the break and put it away.

I really think we didn't even play that well. Mata was great but Hazard & Oscar were relatively quiet. Ramires was solid in the double-pivot, not as sound passing and in possession as Frank but he makes up for it with hustle and teams fear his bursts. One of Fernando's better games too as he was pretty active, decisive, and looked quick. Hopefully Luiz just has a little knock that isn't too serious. His yellow was absolute BS.

I want to see us come back strong mid-week vs Nordsjaelland and put them away early.

Torres' best game for us this season. Apart from the goal, as noted above, he looked to get more involved in both facets of the game. His touch still lets him down on occasion, he looks rather clumsy at times which I believe all stems from his overall lack of confidence.

A win against Arsenal on the road is a GREAT win which has been made even more so with Manchester United's loss to the Spurs!
