B/R is atrocious on all fronts really, they make Fox look good and Fox doesn’t even appear to actually like the sport. Really impressive tbh.

Re: The Beautiful Game Thread
My friend has FuboTV because of his job (e.g. he translates a bunch of FIFA stuff from French to English and runs the US-based Wolfsburg and French National Team Twitter among a bunch of other stuff) and swears by it. Yes, he basically lives the dream.Comment

Wow, so he literally gets paid to ****post on the internet, I'm so jealous right now.Comment

Re: The Beautiful Game Thread
Ha, well he only does a couple team accounts and has to be on good behavior with them. The stuff he does for FIFA is their website stuff - mainly around big tournaments. Like the team preview articles and capsules - he usually does those. So he has to keep up on his soccer watching. It is really rough
The non-soccer stuff is mostly a French language Belgian newspaper and just random projects through a middleman he works with. Could be anything from a board game to a technical manual. It's actually amazing how steady his work is working as a French to English translator from home in Duluth MN.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 07-05-2019, 04:02 PM.Comment

Re: The Beautiful Game Thread
tbf, that's how I get my Danish league games, I translate Danish to English for a few clubs, and use a VPN for a TV account lmao.
Also, I hated FuboTV's pricing/add-ons/etc plan. If it was free, I'm sure I'd love it, but I wasn't impressed with their initial offering.Support Local Sports

Re: The Beautiful Game Thread
Fubo's more of a straight cable replacement that has a ****-ton of soccer than a streaming service like the ones that you listed. The only thing that made me go with YouTubeTV over it was the fact that I split with two other people and they wanted YT. It also doesn't have ESPN. It has everything else soccer that most people here would want outside of ESPN+ though. The soccer channels you get in the add-ons are super meh that's for sure. But luckily there's not really much in the add-ons in general anyway.
EDIT: Oh, and no NBCSN, that's a big one.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 07-05-2019, 05:16 PM.Comment

Re: The Beautiful Game Thread
It may have changed since I last looked, I don't have cable so I'm also not looking too hard for a replacement, last I saw the package I 'wanted' was around 44.95/month which is significantly more than I pay now.Support Local Sports

Re: The Beautiful Game Thread
That's still what it is. I also forgot they didn't have NBCSN, which means you'd still have to keep that service.Comment

Re: The Beautiful Game Thread
It's 54.99/month, if you're looking for the additional channels, it looks worth checking out. Last year with B/R Live, ESPN+ and the discounted Premier League Pass, I paid ~12.99/month.Support Local Sports

Re: The Beautiful Game Thread
I think B/R is so much better than Fox.
Better HD picture, no lag, FS2 for overflow isn’t even available in all markets.
The only thing Fox had is that they actually gave af about the Europa League but those are Arsenal problems now [emoji3037]

Re: The Beautiful Game Thread
Well it didn't take much for me to cancel fanatiz. The technical issues became overwhelming during AFCON between the screen glitching, or just freezing, in addition to having no replays available for the competition either(may or may not be their fault, but I'm blaming them anyway. I may sign up for a trial again during the season to see if they improve for Ligue 1/LaLiga, as I would enjoy being able to watch those leagues.Support Local Sports

Re: The Beautiful Game Thread
A friend recently got in to soccer and we were discussing how some stars have some unlikable qualities, or have had some allegations thrown towards them that are less than ideal for being an idol, so we started discussing who the most likeable player was, based on all known information.
I came up with Juan Mata. What are some other guys, that for at least right now seem to have it all together and are also good at the sport.Support Local Sports

Re: The Beautiful Game Thread
Probably Kante as well, hey look all Chelsea players.
Also imo the sport would be much less fun without Balotellis and Zlatans. If every player was like Messi it would be boring.Comment
