Interesting to see Rooney start tonight. I wonder how much Jose wants his players to fully commit to tackling him and risking injuring Rooney.

Also, a false 9 for Jose? Interesting.

So we have 2 spots open in our EPL Fantasy League that's drafting tonight and I thought I'd put the word out in here in case any of you guys would like to be in on it.

Here's the post from the thread that you may or may not have seen:

Not sure if we need teams yet, but feel free to contact me or Mo (@cpatt20) here or on Twitter if you want to see about getting in.

It's styled like American Fantasy Football, there's going to be be a draft, your roster at the moment is basically a 4-4-2, should be fun.

If you've already made your team, please post your team name here too.

      Teams:
John Blake van Persie (Mo) (Commissioner)
DEMBA BA CHICK CHICKA CHICKA (Dayman)
      Arsene's Never Ending Jacket (#WT4M)
      Bulbasaur, Charmander and Skrtel (jvalverde88)
      In Good Kompany (BunnyHardaJJLinn)
      Unleash The Sturridge (justblaze09)
Masters of the Long Throw (ZM Punk)
      Robo Kop (VTPack919)
The Black and Blue Cats (Blue)
      Stewart Downing Syndrome (OSUFan_88)
Here's the page of rules if you're looking for specifics.

Now here's the thing. We have 10 already, and we can only go forward with an even number. So if you would like a spot, by all means tell us. But we have to have 2, and if we don't get 2 we're going to have to go with the 10 we have now.

Hopefully we'll get a couple of you in and we'll have a nice full league.

We went with our hardest-working 11 which is interesting because Schurlle hasn't played up-top at all for us in preseason or the first 2 matches. He's usually brought in to give us width.

Mata, Lukaku, Torres, and Mikel off the bench are pretty good options.

Did I read the starting lineups correct...Chelsea doesn't have a pure striker starting?

He's still not fully fit. He was struggling vs Villa.

Oh ok. A fully fit Mata would be the first name on my team sheet.

I've had to ask this question a number of times last year, and so far I've been constantly asking it this year.

Why the hell is Kagawa sitting on the bench?

The lad's pure quality. I'd rate him United's third best offensive player right behind RvP and Rooney. He has the skill, the vision, an ability to play the killer pass and also a good nose for goal considering he's a midfielder. He can play as a winger, and is good in that role, while absolutely terrorizing defenses when played in a central role. Yet he hasn't even been warming up these first two games, and from what I gather didn't get a decent run in the Community Shield either. Instead the likes of Welbeck and Giggs are getting starts constantly. Yeah yeah Welbeck scored two against Swansea, but no way is he a better player than Kagawa. Giggs is a legend, but age is a factor with him and I think Kagawa is better than him as well. Like I said, probably United's third best offensive player, and I'd say the best with the ball at his feet.

Moyes himself said that United lacked the killer pass and/or a moment of brilliance. Kagawa could have provided either of those.

Kagawa has only played 90 minutes TOTAL of preseason. Though I do think Kagawa should've gone on instead of Giggs or subbed for RVP to let Rooney play up front since Rooney was more present (and my MOTM) during the match than RVP.

I expect to see Kagawa in some form against Liverpool, but if he still doesn't, I don't know what's up.

Seems like Kagawa didn't feature a ton with Sir Alex last year either...or maybe I'm daft.

To me, not playing Kagawa seems risky in regards to this whole Rooney situation. RVP was mostly awful today, all he really had to offer was complaints and punching poor Belgian kids in the face. Rooney on the other hand was in excellent form, and Moyes STILL wouldn't let Rooney play up top where he wants to play anyways.

If I was Rooney I'd probably be a little frustrated after a game like that.

He was injured for a month. Featured every other game after, got a lot of PT during April-May.

Rooney loves being involved in the action, something he did in this match. He wasn't being deployed as a midfielder, he was a 10. RVP/Rooney interchanged positions a number of times as well.

The only thing Rooney should be frustrated about after this match is Welbeck totally failing to score a goal after his lovely pass inside the box.

I was only able to catch the last 10 minutes and some highlights. How in the world did Lampard not get called for that blatant handball in the box?
