According to this article and EA Sports, America is definitely red (or green according to their color code on the map) for Manchester United.
I'm not disputing that Man Utd. has more fans than any other club in the USA, but what a flawed article.

They base this on what team people picked in FIFA. Problem is, many soccer fans didn't buy FIFA 13. Maybe they bought PES instead or stuck with Football manager. Or maybe they didn't buy a soccer video game. I know plenty of huge soccer fans that either don't play video games or didn't buy FIFA 13. And what if you're in a multi-person house with different team allegiances, but only one copy of FIFA? And finally, this assumes that if you pick a team in FIFA, you're a fan of that team. There are people who buy FIFA who either aren't huge soccer fans or aren't a huge fan of a particular team. When asked to pick one, they will likely pick Man Utd. because they are the biggest name. Yes, FIFA is the most popular soccer video game, but picking a team in a video game should not be the basis of determining who the most popular team in America is.

This article would be like saying some ABC Family TV Show is the most popular on TV because it has the most likes on Facebook. Then the actual ratings data comes out, and NCIS wins as it always does.

It's not that serious. I'd prefer to have real supporters, not bandwagoners.

Then Man United's fan base would be cut in half. Hell, probably more.

Quite hilarious for a Chelsea man to say that.

Every large club in the world has American bandwagon fans. One fanbase insulting another about that issue is stupid.

The Emirates has the same problem. Any big stadia has that problem, except for probably Dortmund. United away supporters can easily outsing whatever venue they're in, that much I can say for certain.

Like you becoming a City fan because they're a "big" club before being bought by the oil daddy?

You're right though, it's pointless. Doesn't mean it can't be fun to poke fun though!

I don't know how you say that about the Leverkusen game - that was a very good performance. Definitely helped by poor defending/goalkeeping but you can only beat what's in front of you.

To be fair even the City game wasn't as bad as it looked by the end.

Let's face it, as for the Chelsea game, both teams were cautious. I don't see a point for them against Chelsea as a failure at all.

I have no problem admitting that I started following and liking Chelsea after they started getting good.

I was just naming the 4 big tests. I thought they looked very good vs Leverkusen. I agree about the Chelsea game. 2 new managers figuring out what should be title-contenders and not wanting to drop points early.

Let's not discount the fact that of all the big clubs, United has had the toughest start of them all on top of the pressure on Moyes taking on such a monumental seat.

I have not agreed with Moyes' team selection and tactics at times but I'm also not having a knee-jerk reaction to this sub-par start. I subscribe to Ferguson's adage of your standing on the table not really mattering until December because that's when you can gauge how you will realistically end the season.

This is just a fantastic football match, I only hope the referee's decision to send off Torres doesn't cost Chelsea a much deserved point.
