That was the easy part. That damn third goal was the problem.

I feel like once a year I loathe away goals, and it appears to be that time of year again.

Leverkusen trying to upset Atletico. About to enter extra time. We've seen some great matches in the knockout stages so far.

Shouldn't have screwed up the first leg. Every year.

From the time of his original post, I assumed he meant 2 more (after it was already 0-1). Dunno though.

Yup. That's what I meant. Although the way Monaco were sitting back, they're damn lucky they didn't get eliminated.

Well, that'll induce instant clinical depression. Penalties are painful.

Bayern gets a free pass straight to the semis. Shaktar then Porto, that's just silly.

Are no EPL teams just a product of how physical that league is? I have a hard time believing those teams are that much better than the top of the EPL.

Well, Liverpool flamed out, Arsenal...is prone to these types of happenings. Chelsea losing was a blow to the league and Man City got Barca'd.

Really, the only EPL teams to have a lot of success in Europe are Chelsea and ManU, at least relatively recently. I believe Liverpool made a run in like 08 but outside of that, none of the EPL teams have been that great in the competition.
