Or the officials could stop fighting against it and making it seem like some time wasting nonsense and actually use it properly. Its only been a joke because the people using it are morons. If it was used properly and they actually gave correct calls after seeing the replay it would be fine. And only hold up the game for a maybe a minute, which would then be added on at the end.

But we've had nothing but idiots using it and making their own point about how they don't want it used because it wastes time. And I wouldn't be surprised if a few of those ridiculously bad calls that have been given when it was used were to further that agenda. I don't see how England is the only one who mess it up so badly. Its just crazy.

The way to do it proper is a VAR official who sits in the booth and watches it and speaks in the head guys ear about what he sees and what happened. They can then make very fast decisions, 30-60 seconds. No need to have the head guy lumber over to a tv and stand there for 5 minutes and then turn around and act like it didn't show him anything he didn't already see.

Yeah, I don't think the system is perfect, but the way that they are utilising it is nothing short of a circus.

I wonder if there could be any retrospective action taken on Alonso. Horrible challenge on Shane Long. Should have seen red if it was spotted.

Southampton look good today but that might be because Chelsea look awful. Hazard is the only one who looks like he's into it today.

And this is why you're in a relegation battle.

Chelsea just needed super sub Giroud on. Or Morata off..

Sparky could manage 2 teams in the same season to be relegated. Here's hoping he replaces a Big Sam next season.

Re: The 2017-2018 EPL Discussion Thread

That Southampton collapse was huge for Brighton, who seem safe at 7 points clear of them, but could realistically end the season on the 35 points they're on right now if they lose today. (And as I type this, they're now down 2-0)

                  After today Brighton's schedule is:

                  Tottenham (H)
                  Burnley (A)
                  Man Utd (H)
                  Man City (A)
                  Liverpool (A)

                  EDIT: This game is wild!

It's 3-2 Palace! Glad I chose this one to watch live!

Huddersfield's run-in is just as horrendous and they have 3 points fewer than Brighton and played a game more. Today is a MUST win for them at home to Watford. After today it's:

Does that recent history go back to include Bale and/or Modric?

Although Modric turned into the best middie after a year or two at Madrid.

Yea, I'd say Kane is better for Tottenham than Bale or Modric were. He's so much more important to the club and his on field production is better imo.

Can't be complacent in the second half. No one has more points from losing positions than Bournemouth. 18 points.
