No punishment for Aguero, and arrests for some Wigan 'fans'

I didn't realize that they also tore up ad boards and other parts of the pitch. how ****ing stupid.

the EFL transfer window will now close on 9 August, however teams not in the Premier League will still be able to loan players until 31 August.

In response to the weakened team David Wagner played last year, a new rule has come about it states: "For any league match played on or after the fourth Thursday in March any team sheet for a league game should include at least 10 outfield players who featured on the team sheet for the league match before."

Looks like City officials might be meeting with officials from the referees association and possibly the FA as well.

Honestly I’m all for this and most other fans should be too really. What they are pushing for is post-game diving punishments to be expanded to include red card worthy tackles.

If this actually happens it would be a pretty big step forward towards real accountability for refs.

This rule makes absolutely no sense.

Good. Firmino was cleared of Holgate's accusations finally yesterday. Not sure why that took 2 months, but whatever, it's good that they're thorough. But Holgate still had absolutely no punishment for blatantly shoving Firmino over the ad boards into the front row of fans, endangering both a player and spectators. Then he pushed the ref. But because it's in the ref's report, absolutely nothing. Not even a yellow card. It's ridiculous.

Interesting. I noticed in Aug 2019 of FM that held true and I had no clue what was going on lol.

              Yeah exactly.

I think a lot of people see this kind of stuff as City basically whining and "not being tough enough" and all that nonsense, but all they want is for people to be punished properly.

Something I see all the time in response to this whole City saga is "Oh what, so City players never do bad tackles?". Thing is, City players do, and they are almost always punished for it. Fernandinho got a red this week, Auguero got red for assaulting David Luiz (the second time, not the first time unfortunately), Kyle Walker got a red card without even committing a card-able foul.

At this point, even as a fan of a rival team, it's pretty hard to ignore the large amount of straight red card challenges teams have been getting away with against City.

The Spurs game alone should’ve been enough. That **** was a clown show.

In regards to VAR, watching Scotland/England rugby yesterday was another example where all FIFA has to do is straight up copy what they do in rugby:

England score a clear try, but the referee asks the TMO to go back a few sequences of play. The referee is watching the replay on the big screen and determined England knocked the ball, therefore no try for England and scrum to Scotland.

It’s very simple and I’m not sure where all the leagues are dragging their feet on this.

Fabregas looked onside to me. That would have been 2-2.

It pains me when pundits and podcast guests act completely befuddled to how this is supposed to work. I get it, the sports are different, but it’s a clear example of how it can be done very well. Perfectly? No, but a lot better than nothing and better than the farce they’re currently trotting out.

Some chatter going around about creating an all-star game between the North & South. I think it’s long overdue.

I'll pass on having to watch Liverpool guys play alongside overrated Man U players who won't deserve to be there based on their play. *coughPogbacough*

In all seriousness, North/South doesn't work for me. Arsenal and Spurs players shouldn't be getting all buddy buddy with each other even if it is for a week. It's just not natural, dammit!

I've never been a fan of all-star games in any sport. Seems like such a waste of everyone's time.

I don't mind the idea as a whole, but I hate the idea that players/anyone should take them seriously. If it were just a friendly where we know everyone plays at half or even quarter pace(full pace for arsenal), and it's just a fun game where neat things could happen.

Stoke players are never invited for fear of broken legs.
