Re: 2017-2018 UEFA Champions League/Europa League Thread
There are about 20,000 Cologne supporters in London today. Probably gonna make the crowd sound at least 50/50, if not upstage the home support.Comment

Everton playing well so far I see.
EDIT:
From BBC:
Arsenal's Europa League game against Cologne at Emirates Stadium has been delayed by an hour in the interest of crowd safety.

Ugh. Surely the mass of Cologne supporters are to blame. Jerks, now some of us are obligated to work for another hour.
From Michael Cox on Twitter: Not great scenes in the ground here, Cologne fans attacking stewards, police dogs getting involved.
There were also reports earlier about glasses/bottles being thrown in the streets and general ugliness.
Another update, seems that due to the crowd outside the stadium (Cologne supporters), home supporters can not get in. Cologne supporters who did get in came in the home entrance, and have been trying to make their way to the away end, but have been getting into scuffles with stewards.
Seems like an absolute mess as of now, and I wouldn't be surprised if it gets delayed even further.
Police with dogs are now inside the stadium. Big fears that this will be postponed entirely now. Those who are in the stadium said it's an absolute mess.Last edited by Krebstar; 09-14-2017, 03:18 PM.Comment

Teams are warming up at the Emirates, but it's going to sound like a Cologne home game and just because they're really loud, but because of the amount of them who seemed to have purchased tickets. Seems absolutely mental in terms of what's happening there right now.
Edit: It apparently has been confirmed that the game will proceed as that's the safest option. This is going to get really interesting as the game goes on.Last edited by Krebstar; 09-14-2017, 03:29 PM.Comment

Sounds like Cologne supporters were allowed 2900 tickets based off UEFA rules that 5% of the stadium attendence goes to away fans. As much as I hate Arsenal, they didn't do anything wrong here, just some angry German travelers who decided they are getting in no matter what.Current careers:

What a ridiculous clearance attempt.Comment

Terrible clearance by Ospina, but that was still a really nice shot by Cordoba to score. Really easy to hit that off target or right at the keeper.Comment
