Did they just say there's extra time in this? After a two-leg semifinal when every other round goes straight to pens after 90 mins?

I'll never understand what they do with this competition.

Moot point anyway, Liverpool-Chelsea at Wembley it is again.

Yeah semifinals are 2 legs, ET and then PKs if tied. Terrible!

All cup comps should either go straight to pens or a replay at the other ground.

The rules for the 2-leg semifinal used to be real weird in this competition. Away goals didn’t count to determine extra time in the 2nd leg. But once it was in extra time, away goals DID count. So if it was 1-1 during extra time, no pens, away team went through.

Many people won't even know it's time for the final until they realize there are no late league games that day.

Klopp’s leaving at the end of this season. Might as well go ahead and win the league as a nice send off I guess.

My fanfic is that he goes into full DGAF mode and fistfights Paul Tierney at some point.

I already feel bad for Xabi that he’s going to be peppered with questions regarding his future while he’s actively trying to dethrone Bayern.

Oh! My prediction from a year ago that I reiterated was correct regarding Klopp not staying through his contract ending in 2026 and that he'd leave early on his own. I thought it would be before this season...but close enough considering he told the club in November.

A combination of Tierney/Anthony Taylor is definitely incoming.

Tierney’s reffing our match on Wednesday. Sorry about that, but he gets assigned to about half of Liverpool’s matches either as ref or VAR.

Yeah I was haphazardly watching the Bournemouth-Swansea FA Cup match yesterday. Bournemouth’s first or 2nd goal went to VAR and Tierney was on it. Couldn’t help but laugh

He ignored a blatant red card and a pen as VAR this past weekend, but the match ended 4-0 so no one noticed.

In all seriousness I really thought he’d see out his contract through 2026 and leave then. Especially since he’s now rebuilt the team and finally has them playing how he wants over the past few weeks.

But it sounds like he told FSG in November, so that’s that. Hope he gets a cycle or two managing Germany after his time off.

Sounds like he’s just really tired? I can respect that, job must be exhausting.

I’m assuming Liverpool will aggressively court Xabi now.

Even though Ancelotti has a recent extension signed through June of 2026, I wouldn't at all be surprised to see Xabi stay at Leverkusen through next season before taking over for Ancelotti who decides to leave Madrid a year early.
