Watching it back (because why not embrace the pain), that’s honestly very much on Raya. He’s always coming out for those—always, and that’s why Saliba is doing what he’s doing (and everyone is freaking out about).

Raya froze and waited—that was the break in the system.

“Just clear it!” Well, no, if ghe keeper comes to it like he does every other time and how they do it in training, the lead remains at the half.

Yeah..all he has to do is come and claim it. Good by Diaz to get a toe poke on it but Saliba did more than enough to shield him

It’s infuriating how many people are saying it’s all on Saliba for not smashing it away, but I get it, they’re the same ones who complain about playing from the back when a pass is misplayed but celebrate it when a goal is scored from doing so.

I still think k Raya is better than Ramsdale, but I still don’t think he’s the keeper we need (but he’ll be who we have after the deal is finalized in the Summer).

What’s funny is it’s similar but different to the last goal. VVD did horrible and wasn’t strong, the opposite of what Saliba did, but the keeper did come for this one but it didn’t matter because the attacker was never actually shielded.
