All evens out—players dive every week in every game and it’s clear there’s not much of an effort to police it.
I mean tbf Arsenal got away with a lot as well, it was pretty even.

But yeah not even mad at Kai for that dive. Diving works, consistently. Right now the way the game is refereed there is zero reason not to dive.

Until diving starts getting properly punished, the risk and reward with diving will continue to be worth it.

Looking at it again this morning, there's a lot of contact at their hips. Kai was still looking for it, but it was more of a coming together than a straight up leap into the air—perhaps why they just carried on. Dive, but not blatant enough or whatever. But yeah, diving is fairly low on my list of complaints due to its inevitability and being accepted—feigning injury is much higher.

Are we keeping track of 'professional' fouls by City that are not booked?

I’ve always hated when you have your CF marking someone on a header. Prefer to have them on the post or zonal

My gut says Alisson gets to to that earlier and keeps it out, but I'm also very anti-keeper this weekend.

I'm dreamed of 0-0 but this feels like the goals are just getting started. Ugh, fine, entertain me as long as it ends in a draw.

Walker def should have been booked for his 2 challenges. Hell, maybe even for that terrible cross lol

That’s basically a loss in my mind. Played them out of the stadium in the 2nd half. Haaland was completely invisible the entire match and Walker should have been off 100%

Nice Nigel de Jong impersonation by Doku at the end but I’m 50/50 on whether that should be a pen I guess

Some of Luis Diaz's touches today we're out of this world.

Feel so bad that he missed that chance. He was outstanding today outside of that.

                          Endo was incredible too.

After looking at it more, nah, that is as blatant a penalty as you’ll see at the end, and the cowards didn’t want to make the call. What a joke.

Quality wise…that was probably the worst Liverpool-City matchup we’ve seen when they are both at the top on a while. Very sloppy game, entertaining yes but lacked a bit of quality on the final 3rd.

Idk about the penalty shout at the end. It’s one of those that’s a foul anywhere else on the pitch but those types never get called. The crazy part was that you could see Doku thinking about it after he effed up and didn’t deal with the first ball.

                                1. We all know 'a foul anywhere else' doesn't hold up in the penalty area—there is often (obviously not consistently) a higher threshold once inside the area, as there should be (all fouls do not interfere with a goal scoring opportunity).

                                2. I think the issue/lack of clarity is Mac Allister throwing his shoulder/arm to the ball, and chest at Doku. It muddies the entire situation, because it's not just a high boot into a chest, it's one player legitimately going for the ball (with a high boot, I get it) and one seemingly trying to impede that player's attempt at the ball, draw contact, or even illegally handle the ball.

If it was given, it makes sense, but I honestly think Mac Allister's movement to the ball is what throws it entirely in the air. It would be amazing if there was even a shred of transparency and we could just hear the audio immediately/live as rugby has done for decades.

But, Liverpool should've won well before that moment occurred if they took their chances.
