Fiorentina trade Felipe Melo to Juventus in exchange for Marco Marchionni and €21million. While I would've preferred to see him head to Arsenal, we got something better in return (the Gunners were proposing Emannuel Eboue + less cash). Still a bit sad to see him go after an great season and an excellent Confederations Cup too.

Real Zaragoza have signed free agent Jermaine Pennant. The Spanish club are back in the Primera after spending last season in the Segunda Liga.

- Melo is definitely overrated. I didn't like the proposed transfer we had for him, 19M or something like that and a great utility player in Eboue).

They might of overpaid by a little. But with the inflation of the transfer market this year. You weren't going to get him for any less than 17 or 18 million. Lopez is worth at least 15 million pounds in any year. That dude is the real deal.
