The club don't attract players, their cash does. Wolverhampton could attract stars if they had the pockets to do it. Liverpool will be back in the top four next year as well as Arsenal.
We got a manager who knows what it takes to win a championship and have the interest of the club at heart.

As for Man City they will be battling with Tottenham and the likes for that 5th spot.

How does a club attract players, then? Winning, surely. How does a club win? Spending money. City is making a gargantuan push into the upper echelon, and I think they can stick around for a long time.

When Abramovich joined Chelsea he spent a good amount and take a look at Chelsea trophy room recently, now compare that to City's.

Players are not attracted to an All Star roster with no chemistry.

I'm not saying Man City isn't good or won't be good but to say they've passed Liverpool and Arsenal at this point is just absurd.

Not a fan of Man C but their cash infusion came later than Chelsea I believe.

Alex Ferguson's first trophy with Man U, came a few years after he joined, was the FA cup.

Abramovich also splashed the cash on Mourinho. How can you say players aren't attracted to an All Star roster. Every signing by City, Chelsea, Real, Barca, and thr Milans say otherwise. If anything City is defying the odds because at least these other clubs offer some history or a major city. All City has is the lure of its rivals and the ability to create a new history in that department and they still landed the likes of Aguero, Tevez, Silva, etc...

Even as a Chelsea fan I'm nervous and we started the blueprint in England. We just had stronger leaders in place with Terry and Lamps.

Like I said give Wolverhampton a billionaire to splurge on the team and they will get any player they want. I team attracting players will be players signing despite their weekly wage. Players will sign with Utd, Liverpool, Barca, Real, etc because it's their lifelong dream. Guys only sign with City when to make 100K+ a week.

Only Chelsea amassed more points than us under than the reign of King Kenny. That says alot about how this team has turned things around. PLus most of last year we fielded and uninterested Fernando Torres and our best player watched from the stands more times than not.

Gerrard will be back to 100% fitness to start the season and I and the rest of the world like our chances when #8 is in the middle of the park.

Why do you have to give them time? They were better than Liverpool & Arsenal last year and I didn't see any of those clubs hoist any silverware where as City won the FA Cup and qualified for the CL. Not bad for a club in their 3rd yr of a $ transfusion. Arsenal fans might have a say given their performance in the CL but Liverpool fans are basing it off a good half-year run with Kenny.

City might overpay for players but Pool splashed the cash on some over-hyped homegrown talent. We'll see this year what happens.

You forgot to mention the fact they can offer good players superstar wages. I mean they gave Yaya Toure 250k a week.

They have the same thing Chelsea had when they went from a mid table club that hadn't won **** to a superpower. An insanely rich owner. That is all you need in this day an age with these money hungry agents and mercenary players.

I do agree that Man City will surpass Arsenal and Liverpool. Lets just not say it is some kind huge miracle it happened. Just like when Abromavich took over Chelsea it was just a matter of time before City made it to the upper echelon of football.

I have came to accept that unless FIFA can somehow put a stop to this ridiculous transfer fees and reckless spending that Arsenal doesn't have much of a chance to compete.

I think that is what UEFA was trying to accomplish with Financial Fair Play, but I am pretty sure everyone can see it for what it is. A sham.

As for Arsenal, I just don't know. Arsene just doesn't seem like a guy that likes to spend money. The book Soccernomics hailed him as this master of the transfer market and compared him to Billy Beane, but they totally ignored one major fact. Arsenal, like the Oakland A's, aren't winning.

Arsenal is probably the most well-run club in England from a financial standpoint and their willingness to invest in their academy players is to be commended, but at some point you have to open up the checkbook if you want to win. It isn't like they don't have the money.
