These are the types of moves I like to see from us, which feel like we have been missing for quite some time.

Under Rodgers we got like what... Allan and Awoniyi as young players for relatively cheap? I feel like anything before Rodgers got the can were big money moves for the most part.

If he pans out, amazing. If he doesn't, what is the hurt in a 250k transfer. Hopefully under Klopp, we can start focusing the team a bit, stop trying to fit square pegs in round holes and build towards the future.

Isn't that a bit revisionist? I'm pretty sure if there is one thing you CAN'T criticize Rodgers for, it's trying to bring in high potential youngsters and integrating them into the first team. Sterling, Coutinho, Gomez, Moreno, Flannagan, Rossiter, Origi. They didn't all cost 250k but high potential kids rarely go for that cheap these days.

Big money signings aren't necessarily bad, your club just has a recent history of spending lots of money on players that don't work out.

If anything, Rodgers actually changed your youth recruiting for the better. You guys are notorious for trying to find hidden gems, and taking the cheapest route possible by buying slightly younger and much cheaper. Under Rodgers you guys took more risks buying young players.

If memory serves me correctly, you guys had a legit chance at Courtois, and passed him up because it was too much money for a keeper his age, but that is what you get with those extra couple million pounds.

I'm not saying that everyone he brought in was bad at all, nor am I disagreeing with the core of good young talent in our team were brought in on good deals by him.

I'm just saying I hope we can also focus on smaller signings to go along with some of the large purchases we have been known for. Especially helping build toward the future, as you can see our depth this year is... pretty ****.

It's not one or the other, it's both that should be done in an ideal world.

Rodgers didn't bring in most of the names you listed. Flanagan and Rossiter started in their youth academy at young ages, they've never played for any other teams. Sterling was brought in before Rodgers was hired (2010 vs 2012). So he was again already apart of the youth program prior. Moreno wasn't/isn't a youth player (22 when purchased), neither is Coutinho (21 when purchased). Young yes, but not youth players.

So the only names on that list that were youngsters were Gomez and Origi. Under 21. And Origi could be seen as a ify under Rodgers, constontly being played out of position. Gomez was his only real gem of a youth player.

But I guess you could say he deserves credit for playing them in the first team and giving them shots. When most managers shy away from playing such young players like that.

We all joke about Ade a lot, but he is a legitimate world class striker with almost zero weakness to his game. When he feels like it.

How the hell is Pato getting a UK Work Permit? Does he have a EU passport that i dont know of?( I only mention this cause he couldnt get one for me in FM)

He's going to have to appeal for one, and the expectation is he will get one "because the Brazilian international will accumulate the ‘points’ needed under the new system given the size of the club he is signing for and the wages he will be paid." (Link)

Which basically means, because it's Chelsea they're looking the other way.
