              I'd be up for league.

With so many up for league it would be cool if there is legitimate interest and activity from everyone to the point could have a really great league/teams/draft or something of sort.

Reminds me of UniBall way back in day where there was a very active community that you could really enjoy being in a league or at very least structured competition

Reading this and the interview one of the devs had with IGN...they seem like very down-to-earth devs and really understand what the users want while making a fun game. I don't feel like I'm being duped or like they're over hyping the game.

Love the fact that everything is balanced...I'd imagine there should be no game breaking issues since the cars and such have the same stats - as they stated, it's purely a physics game.

I see myself spending tons of time on this puppy; love the fact that it's free, I think that will give the game a ton of exposure and, if it's successfuly as it likely will be, propels their company into a big release V3.

It's up to the team or individuals. Most games I played in the beta didn't have anyone guarding.

Some games you get a dedicated goalie who only moves out just to clear the ball or get the long shot. I find that you just have to pick your spots on when to attack and when to come back and defend. There's no need to stay at your goal 90% of the time, you will figure out the timing just by reading the opponents' positioning on the ball.

Lots of different styles of play in this game. I play mostly midfield trying to win the 50/50 balls to setup teammates on the attack. I'll go for the shot if the opportunity is there, but you'll find me mostly sitting at midfield waiting for the high bouncing balls to go for the shot.

I know candyman likes sitting goalie and he gets several saves a game, nothing wrong with that. You just gotta find a style of play you're comfortable with.

Not when I play, . I love being goalie and I think some in the beta here played me while I was goalie.

I got pretty good at it.

                          Edit:

Lol if only I read the last post. I try but I will say this game is a on the fly tactic game. If you do what you always do and it's not working then you best change it up fast.

Like it was mentioned I love goalie but if I find my team can't get pressure then me sitting back in goal isn't going to help.

                            Re: Rocket League

Here are some tips I posted a while back on a different forum. Basic stuff but you be surprised how much of it people do in the game.

                            Tips for the start:

1v1: Try to play the shot in beginning, most of the time the opponent will see the wide open shot opportunity and screw it up or allow you to get a easy save. Then you can recover.

2v2: However is closest to ball run at it, the other player play the deflection whether its being goalie or just clearing it.

3v3: We always have the 2 closest charge in while the 3rd sits back. If theres 2 back then one of them plays the ball after the front guy hits. (This allows sometimes easy shots on goal if the ball slowly rolls towards us and/or dies in the middle)

4v4: Front 2 on corners charge in, back front plays the rebound while the very back plays goalie.

                            Tips in General:

                            1. NEVER EVER HIT THE BALL TOWARDS YOUR OWN NET. I play goalie a lot and its entirely frustrating to get scored on because a teammate just wants to hit the ball just to do it.
                            2. Pay attention to where your teammates are, if you see theres a goalie that has a easy save play backup to them, dont try to boost in and knock the Goalie out of position.
                            3. While attacking, not everyone needs to be chasing the ball. Especially 3v3 and 4v4, try to expect crosses and rebound in front of net. Lots of easy opportunities get missed in front of net due to this.
                            4. gg=good game, ns=nice shot or nice save, gs=good shot or good save, rm=rematch

I doubt we'll start up right away. I'm not sure who all was in the betas but everybody should get maybe a week or so to get bearings and some skills IMO. There's a lot of particulars to iron out for the league still. 3v3?4v4? Then we'll need a final count of people to figure out number of teams and then pick captain for a sandlot draw for teams or Random assigning, or?
