I know Amped never had the same success of a game like Madden, but man, those are some low numbers for it considering the devoted fanbase it seemed to have had. I would like to see a seperate pole asking how many people would have been interested in Amed 3 if 2K hadn't turned it into another SSX and kept it closer to its original roots. I know they lost me with that move.Comment

From that list, NBA 2K6 is the only game on the list that I'm really interested in purchasing... especially given the price 59.99 price tag. I will probably rent some of the others to test drive.
inino - i hear what you're saying about amped. I was a fan of Amped too, but it just didn't have the fun factor of games like SSX (imo) Maybe this is an attempt to bring a little more fun into it. I think I'll give it a try... it looks pretty wacky, but if you look at the tricks, it's not all arcadey imo. Btw, I think amped3 was in the works long before 2K came around, so I'm not sure where you're getting that from. And 2K Sports/ESPN bringing this new whimsical style doesn't quite match their history of making nothing but SIM sports up to this point.Comment

I've got Madden and COD2 on reserve. I'd like to pick up a basketball game, but I'm not sure which one it's going to be- 2K6 will be the better game, but I've already played the hell out of the Xbox version, while Live 06 has the benefit of ridiculous visuals and being a bit of an unknown commodity.
I'll pick up NHL2K6 down the road as well.Comment

I'm getting Madden and NBA 2K6. I'm not really into the racing or shooting games because I get bored of them quickly. Sports games are the best IMO because you can't really "beat" them. Also, franchise mode in a sports game can keep anyone busy for a while.Originally posted by billmaticComment

Live 06 XBOX360 looks slightly better graphically than NBA2K6, but that is about it... NBA2K6 stands out way ahead in other comparisons with Live 06 - gameplay, franchise, player movements, etc. Maybe when EA Sports decides to put a little more energy, creativity, and effort into their games for the 2007 series, it'll be worth the $59.99. I rented out Live 06 360, Tiger Woods 360, and Madden 360, and as much as want to love EA Sports games, it was very disappointing. Aside from the graphics, nothing else in those games are worth the $59.99Comment

I just got the 360 for xmas, but the only games I got were Madden and Live. They were AWFUL!! I've been playing the Madden series for years on the PS2, but EA really stripped this title down. John Madden doesn't even do the commentary anymore...so what's the point? Same problems with Live though...major lack of gameplay modes and so-so controls. You'd think EA would want to step it up for the new system, but I guess not.
I do plan on picking up a few of the 2k titles though to make up for it. I love the Amped Series and my friends have been raving about the new one (they say the humor is very "Adult Swim" like, which is awesome), and NBA2k6 looks like a nice alternative to Live, with a "street ball" mode, dynasty, and what I consider better graphics and game play.
I guess in the end it comes down to what you enjoy...I just don't think EA can cut it anymore for sporting games.Comment
