Im surprised this has not been mentioned yet:

FRANCHISE IMPORT feature should be standard on ALL sports games!

Can you imagine if Microsoft told you that you had to recreate that 15 page Word document from Office 2000 all over again when you install Office 2010 because it cant open the file?.....You'd go ballistic wouldnt you?

Why should we expect any less in Sports games with our franchise modes??? Sports video games should have a standard feature that allows a player to import all their FRANCHISE data into newer versions of their games so they dont have to start all over again if they choose. Some people just want to enjoy the newer features of the newer sports game BUT want to still continue with the history they've created over the seasons and dont want to restart everything all over again.

This should absolutely be a standard option in all sports games.

FIFA is the front-runner on this method and it will pay huge dividends for the franchise. Presentation, online dynasty, and all that social media stuff comes 2nd in regards to gameplay. I'd rather have a game play exactly like its real-life counterpart and be fun before all of the extra fluff and baloney that is shoved into games today.

So for me, it is realistic, PHYSICS-BASED gameplay. That's it. Focus on that first, then worry about the TV-style presentations and replays and all the other "fluff" that gamers want.
        I couldn't agree more.

I lean towards Robert on this roundtable. A complete editor allows me to really do whatever I want with my dynsasty-franchise. Want to create a parallel universe where the MAC is thee power conference in College football, full of 5* and 6* squads, I want to be free to do it.

replay features that allow you to record post game highlights like The Show has....in NBA2k11, I wish you could save the 'game reel' or 'signature highlights', and also be able to upload them in higher quality than we have now....don't need 1080 over here but a better 480 or 720 would be nice...i wouldn't mind paying 10 or 20$ to be able to do this with better quality videos and easier edit/uploading options....the highlights in NBA2k11 take a ridiculous amount of time to upload, especially for the low quality resolution they have

also, a VIP feature like NBA has...something that records your gameplay styles so you could play against team specific profiles that you or your friends create...in my opinion this is the best feature of NBA2k11..i have about a dozen profiles that i use exclusively for their corresponding teams and the results have been amazing...of course they all play like 'me', but there is a lot of variance there....witrh sliders, coach profiles, and VIP, there are basically 3 layers of CPU A.I.

NFL 2K5 and College Hoops 2K8 are STILL the only two games to add the highlight show. Or get it correct (I know Madden 10 tried).

After all these years and MUCH more powerful systems...I can't understand why this is omitted when its requested so so often for every single game.
Let's not forget that it was the great NHL 94 that introduced the between period around the league highlights. I'm still waiting for those to be integrated into another NHL game.

NCAA 12's custom conference options within it's dynasty mode is incredibly deep and a great first step towards making this happen.

I do agree that customization, especially in NCAA games, is key today.

I agree with pretty much everyone on the roudn table.

Im all for the online franchise modes using all teams for said sport, but the coordintaing the logistics could be a potential nightmare. Thats why these features are so "bare bond".
-How does one regulate player progression, while keeping the league competeyive, balanced and fair. IMO, the same rules that apply to player progression off line does not work online.
-scheduling would be a nightmare for all D-1 teams in a college footbal game. how do you regulate this how many servers would you need to support that much capacity/ data. But the ideas woudl be limitless
-online leagues is a form of social media, its just finding the proper wya to implement all the potential features.

Yeah, this is one of my biggest gripes. 2k5 had Dynamic halftime shows that were entertaining to boot. All Pro also had a feature I liked where when you ran out of bounds the players on the sideline either tried to stop your momentum or got out of the way. It's a small thing but these things add to the immersion.

Another thing - what about real dynamic commentary. The commentary should be picking up and commenting on my stats more regularly. Wow Peppers is working hard out there - it's the 3rd game of the season and he already had 6 sacks, etc.

I just want a franchise mode that actually has longevity. Something that can be played multiple seasons that does not have major game killing bugs like either lack of progression or over progression, salary cap problems, strange trades, lack of trades, strange AI moves, recruiting issues or any types of problems that takes away from producing an genuine teambuilding experience.
